A little annoyed

Hey, listen I know that when you allow ZERO seconds between a PM and another PM that it allows people to spam other people. In fact when you have ZERO time limit, it probably URGES the spammers to SPAM even more. But there has got to be some sort of a time limit for people that have been here X amount of days for X amount of posts and have a clean "slate" or something.

When I first came here it was 90 seconds. OMG that's a minute and a half! Then it went down to 60 seconds. That's still a whole minute I have to waste for every PM I send. Then it went down to 20 and I was like Hallelujah! For every PM I sent, by the time I got done copying and pasting the article (to send to the customer) the 20 seconds was up and it was like I never had to wait.

And now? Its back up to 90 seconds. Either do X amount of posts and X amount of days and no warnings special or do Donor special where the people that pay one of the 2 memberships get 20 seconds or something. I don't have time to sit here for 90 seconds especially when sending 10-20 articles. Fair or unfair cool or uncool I don't care I had to finally say something because its just enough already. Hell I would even pay an extra $10 or whatever to HAVE 20 seconds.

In vBulletin there is no option to distinguish between the different usergroups. I agree 90 seconds is a bit much and just changed it to 60 seconds. We'll see if we can drop it down further if there is not too much pm spam.

Okay its retarded to make a new thread just because I have a question and this one thread isint closed so; for some odd reason I'm not receiving notifications on ALL PMs and certain threads I have an instant notification on. I don't know why or how... is this a glitch or what? I have been noticing it for the last few days but I just thought to ask about it now heh.

I've noticed the same thing. I no longer get email when I receive a PM, nor am I getting the alert box notifications either. I assume that the settings are being played with?

I have not brought it up, because between my computer and my iPhone, I have this forum up more than is healthy anyway, though.

Hmm I dont know lol. Well im glad Im not the only one having the problem! I know its not on my end because I checked and rechecked the options like 5 zillion times before I submitted the reply lol.

Haha ya, I usually have it up but I have been busy writing so I just wait leave my gmail inbox open and wait til I see a notification thing.

Grr I want my notifications! Maybe Dave or someone will see this and help

Okay uh someone please fix this for me. Its really becoming a problem for me, I cant check the forum every 5 minutes and Im usually really good when it comes to answering PMs promptly.

I've had this same issue intermittently over the past 6 months. I just stopped receiving notifications via email earlier this week.

My guess is that most people either don't receive email notifications or wouldn't notice if they were down

I'm not convinced it is a sitewide issue either. This summer I had issues when I know no one else was.

Kristi, you could have my problem. I seem to get exiled from BHW, some kind of connection issue, from time to time. It can last anywhere from 10 minutes to 2 days, so, answering PMs could become problematical. I still get the notifications it seems, but, if you can not connect, well, you see the issue.

So, if you want annoyed wait till the only site you can not access is the one you are working with people on.

Am I griping? Nope, I know that the powers that be are looking in to it, so, I sit and wait till it is resolved.

Rofl, this is my main source of income so... lol Its sort of important I receive ANY PMs and replies to my thread that I get! I have been told my customer service rocks so when i don't see a PM and don't check for 3 hours, that's not exactly good heh.

I probably haven't received a notification in.. 4 days or so. Apparently I just noticed it the other day because I was like.. hm.. its a little quiet over there, whats up?!? And then of course I had like 2 replies in my thread and 6 PMs. Fun!

Well I hope they fix it soon
