Why not hide the whole site instead of just Jr VIP?

Just a thought.

Since it is possible to "hide" the Jr Vip section from the public and not let it get indexed, why not do the same to the whole BHW site? Then this way, nothing that gets posted here gets indexed in the SERPs?

Because, unfortunately, it costs money to run this forum. And the people that donate find this forum through web searches (mostly). Also, some information/methods just doesn't belong in the hands of a noob.

Oh yeah, my bad did not factor that in. Sorry. Was just thinking since there had been so much "trouble" with information here being indexed, I thought might as well hide the whole forum but still split the normal and Jr Vip sections. Guess I was just being naive.

Just curious how the rest of you found this site if it wasn't through google or any of the other search engines? Cause I, myself, found it through google looking for an app and am glad it was indexed because I wouldn't have found it otherwise. Now I'm glad to be a contributing ( in my eyes

) member. We just gotta keep an eye out on the people working for the ad agencies not to come lurking in here, but is harder than it seems.

This would be like trying to hide an elephant under a rock.

Clix is right it cost money to run this site and people find this site through the search engines. If everyone really wanted I could close up to the public BHW and make it private but then I would have to charge a monthly membership fee like $29 a month for access.

Another problem with closing the site is that, sometimes, noobs bring good info to the site. Just because they're noobs here, doesn't mean they're noobs in Internet Marketing or SEO. So, by closing up shop and making it private, we could be missing out on a lot of good stuff.

I too chanced upon the site while searching for some stuff related to internet marketing. I guess there is no perfect situation

to resolve it. Sigh that is the way life is I guess.

How else would new people be attracted? Word of mouth? Most people in IM don't talk to each other but do make contact via forums. Can you imagine the sheer horror of BHW suddenly being inundated with people because it had been recommended on WF or DP?

Let the search engine option stay - it has probably been the gateway for most people.

I doubt we'd get recommendations from DP, Forwarding a domain with your aff link already looks like one of the big sins to DPers
