Thanks to all of the new super mods
First of all, I'm so white hat I would bore you all to tears. (I know, it's shocking.) That said, I've gotten some great ideas here.
Thanks to everyone.
Special thanks to Dave, Ruck, Luther, HaRRo ... even Diabolik.
Thank you all for teaching me so much.
Best regards,
Sine

Re: Thanks to all of the new super mods
I'm pretty whitehat myself now. I preach a lot of "building your business" and I think it offsets a few people but I have done a lot of blackhat stuff too, so as long as I find a balance between both, hopefully nobody calls me a pussy.

Nah, not a goodbye. You won't get it that easily.
Just expressing my appreciation of the direction this forum has taken since Dave took on the 3 new supermods.

Re: Thanks to all of the new super mods
This is a great forum. Personally I mix white and black, for a nice dark shade of grey that doesn't get a lot of my sites banned for a very long time (if at all). This is probably the most friendly black hat forum I've seen. I'm a member of others and don't even post at them. These guys motivated me to post. Of course I'm a member (under different usernames) at major SEO, webmaster, domain forums with tons of posts. But these are the first guys that let me floss a little bit of black hat mixed in with everything else. I'm not a programmer (like the other forums try to force you to be) and usually pay someone to do my custom shit, but this is a very user friendly site (whether you're new to the game or old). I've been a webmaster for several years and know tons of tricks I still won't reveal but I still share as much as I can without affecting my pocket to badly.

Opps, I missed this reply somehow, but it made me laugh when I caught it:

Re: Thanks to all of the new super mods
(Somebody using) optimization tricks that artificially boost search engines rankings, using methods that usually break the search engines' TOS.
Examples of blackhat techniques are cloaking, stuffing pages with keywords or links and using unnatural redirects.
The term was inspired by old western movies' villains always wearing a black cowboy hat.

Back in '97 or so I convinced my father to take his healthcare recruiting business online to get an edge on his competition, reduce costs and to quickly capture younger candidates for in-demand roles who were already using the internet to look for positions.
He wound up revising all of the page templates I or his coders pushed live and thereby he stayed at the top of the SERP's for 6 years or so, first in Yahoo, then Google ... until his competition became more savvy and his first slap from the big G.
I still remember him describing keyword stuffing to me around '98 or so, and how he tweaked his pages depending upon his SERP position. I guess he is the oldest and earliest blackhatter I know.
Just some interesting nostalgia there, for me anyway.
