Default Hidden Forum Content...

'...Essential Clix is probably going to hate this and I am not necessarily saying it should be implemented here.

I have just signed up to another forum as they had something I wanted and was amazed to discover that the content was hidden and could only be revealed by clicking on the 'Thanks' button before I had even seen what I was getting. I have never seen this system before as I'm only a member of a couple of forums.

What a great way to stump up your 'thank you' figures, if they're important to you.

Would that be the xtreme myspace forums?

I think I like our little Thanks button better, much easier & doesn't require you to give thanks in order to download.

'...My point exactly, Genjutsu.

(As it happens, I think what I downloaded has value but it is 'blackmailing' people into giving thanks before you know if you want to thank them).

Plus it would hide content from search engines and the admins seem to be making every effort possible to get indexed.

I prefer our system that we got right now and I think that system is a bit lame as you dont know if what your thanking is actually worthy of thanking lol

BHW's system is more than enough I think.
It allows us to see the users who post the most quality content.

Not really. There are some people who get tens and tens of thanks for posting ebook hacks. That is a good contribution to the forum as there are people who like these ebooks but it does not show that person posts quality content.

That's a bunch of bull, because if someone posts a bunch of crap eBooks, they will get a ton of thanks from the Noobs.

eBooks are crap!

On a totally unrelated note, my new eBook will be released ...

It may work on xtrememyspace but on such a big forum like this is i don't think it'd work out. Mainly because everyone will be posting utter crap. Well not everyone but mainly the noobs.

Agreed.

I think Thanks should only be givin if you think the product being shared is worth the Thanks, not because you just want to download it.

Appreciate the suggestion, but for now we'll stay as is.
