Jr. VIP, Avatars, & Signature Questions?

HI.. A small question. I see the rules do give a choice for a donor to add an image as his signature. However, when i try to do that, it does appear at all. Any insight on the same pls?

Signatures – You must be a member of the forum for 30 days and have 50 quality posts before you will be allowed to use a signature on this forum. In order to use images or html in your signature, you have to be a Donor. As a Donor, you may post 1-2 affiliate links and 1 small banner in your signature. Do not use a font size larger than 3, large images, sound clips, or anything annoying. We reserve the right to change, delete or rearrange your signature as we see fit.

its not a good thing You should allow atleast one signature link spot for regular members.

Go to your userCP and click on edit avatar. Below the "Pre-defined Generic Avatars" is there a box with the option to use a Custom Avatar?

If the option is there then you need to make sure the avatar is within the maximum file and image size before uploading. Exceeding the file size or image size is the most common problem people have. If it's too large then it won't take it. The maximum size of your custom image is 100 by 100 pixels or 100.0 KB (whichever is smaller).

If the option is not there then you'll need to contact an admin. You can PM them, but they get so many PMs you're message might get lost in the shuffle. The best way to contact an admin is to log on the blackhatworld irc and see if an admin is online there.

Well if you wait till you get the 100 posts it doesn'tneed to cost $200. A $97 donation is all you need then.

Not HTML. We can use enough BBCODE to make it attractive. Font size upto 3, multiple images, links, and thats it

Are you sure you paid for Jr.VIP membership and not premium membership?

And if you are sure that you paid for Jr.VIP, you arent a JR.VIP yet, most propably because you dont have 100 posts or your account isnt aged enough.

You don't yet meet the requirements for joining Jr.VIP. It clearly states that you must "have been a member of the forum for at least 60 days, and have made at least 100 posts" to become Jr.VIP.

If you want to post them in your signature then you need to be a Premium member, Jr.VIP member, or higher.

If you just want to post a link in the body of a post then regular members can do that. You just have to have a high enough post count.

Yes, that's the correct link for joining Jr.VIP, and once you do so you'll have donor status. As mentioned elsewhere in this thread both Jr.VIP and Premium members are donor membership levels.

Becoming Jr.VIP is no longer available without a donation, and hasn't been for quite a while. The only way to become a Jr.VIP member now is to meet the (100 posts, 60 days) posting and longevity requirements AND use that link to make the ($97) donation.

It's just another forum section. The bulk of information in BHW is in the main forums, if you can't make any money with the information from that information then joining Jr.VIP isn't likely to change that for you. But if you like to know as much as possible, then there is a lot more threads in the Jr.VIP forum that aren't available to you unless you join. A lot of the methods are posted there because they'll get saturated to fast if they're posted in the general forums.

So it's definitely worth joining Jr.VIP, and you'll find lots of good stuff there. Just remember that you'll get a lot more information in that forum, but it won't give you any "magic bullet" methods to change your life.

Not a long time ago I got access to VIP section on popular 'scripts' forum and you can imagine my disappointment when I discovered that there's nothing special and I could find exactly the same information on other forums or torrent trackers.
So since then I doubt the value of VIP sections.

As far as I know, if you can use a signature you can also change it as often as you like. Just go to your UserCP, and choose edit signature.

Yeah you could try sending a PM to an admin, or you could logon to the BHW irc channel and see if an admin is online there. That's usually a bit quicker. Either way though (PM or IRC) it's OK to try contacting an admin, just be careful not to pester them about it if they don't get back to you right away.

If you don't already have an irc client you can get one for the PC at www.mirc.com

Thanks for the advice GreyWolf, I think I'll hit them up on IRC...been meaning to check out the IRC channel for ages, but its been a looooong time since I've been on any IRC...looks like I'll need to refresh myself with mIRC.

If I cant get one on there, I'll just send a PM and wait for a response, its not as though its a big issue really, it would just be kinda cool to have them I don't really mind if it takes a while for them to get back to me.

Well, I mananged to get my issue resolved, got my sig and the ability to upload a custom avatar, but I must warn you...Since you have DOTs in your name like me, you will be unable to. Doesn't matter what you upload you'll just get a picture with the text "vBulletin", its a bug in the system. I'm sorry to say we're stuck on the default ones until they fix the bug.

Can I make a quick simple suggestion that would help a lot of members. In the UserCP when you click on Edit Avatar or Edit Sig can you modify the template so it also shows a message that you do not have permission to upload a custom avatar and link to this thread for more info.

You should do the same too for the edit signiture. It's just a matter of editing the template and shouldn't take more than 5 minutes but would help people so much. No extra load on the server or anything like that either. In fact it will help reduce load as I was searching for ages before I found this so it's good for everyone.
