OK I am a bit confused here. BigBuddy shouldn't you have received Jr. VIP access long ago since you have been a member since October 08 and have 433 posts, Did you have to put in a request, or maybe this has to do with posts in certain forums. Can someone clear this up for me.

Ok so I want to know once and for all about the links in signature rule.

The rules say to use links in signatures we MUST be donors:

I do NOT want opinions or theories but rather a DEFINATIVE ANSWER to the question preferrably from an admin or higher.

Can we or can we NOT have text (non-working) links or URLs in our signatures?

I feel this answer will benefit BHW'rs for generations to come.

I passed all the requirements but for some reason got moved to "Jr. Member" instead of "Jr. VIP." Have PM'd the administrators about this-- anything else I need to do?

My signature have been deleted second time in last 2 months. I don't know where is the problem. I'm donor, I use signature to promote my service, don't even post links and puff..

Why ?

Am I allowed to use some clever quote in the signature only or what ? I don't use marketing service as I can't provide enough "products" to run it but if I can have links in the signature that point to the site where I could sell stuff without buying marketing services why I couldn't have a linkless signature that provides info about my service ?

It's a case of how the mods interpret the rules on this forum.
The Forum Rules are typically enforced regarding signatures in the following manner:

Section 4 and section 5 allow only donors to include signature links and it's generally interpreted to only allow affiliate links or links to other BHW threads. You can include a link if you're a donor(Jr.Vip and Donor are both donors), but only certain types of links are allowed. Basically the only allowed sales links are affiliate referals or links to BST threads. The only non sales links allowed are links to other BHW threads or posts. Occasionally links to an interesting article or non-profit cause may be allowed but it's more of an exeption to the rule. (A text url to a website is still considered a link, even though it isn't an active hypertext link. Just because you can't click on the link doesn't make it acceptable.)
Section 3.6 prohibits any type of advertising that would encourage someone to PM you to buy or sale. Since any effort to sell through your signature without having either an affiliate link or a link to an authorized sales thread would require someone to PM you, then that type of signature isn't allowed. (The only official way to sale on BHW is with a thread in one of the BST forums, or Affilate Programs forum. Selling through signatures is not allowed.)

@almir2, this info is not official. It's just what I've observed on the forum regarding how signatures are enforced. Unless an admin or mod decides to correct me, I think you'll be safe using this guideline. I've highlighted what I think pertains most to your question.

Since you bumped this thread, it's apparent you're reading through older threads by mods and admins regarding the rules. That's a good way to learn about the rules, but how they're currently enforced is what you need to know. You're going to find some rules weren't originally intended to be nearly so restrictive. You need to understand that over time the interpretation has evolved into the above explanation.

I personally think the signature rules have become too restrictive. If someone made a donation and is allowed to have a signature link, I think a link to their own sales page should be as legitimate as an affiliate referal link. But regardless of what I think, the mods have the responsibility of enforcing the rules. You need to understand and abide by the way they currently interpret them.

None of your highlighted verbage is in sections 4 or 5 nor is it even on the page so therefor I have to question where it came from?

Is it your own annotations or perhaps did it come from the FAQ page? (that no longer WORKS)

The part I wrote is how I've seen the forum rules to be interpreted. That's why I also quoted the actual rules in my post as well. The actual verbage used in the rules are within that quoted section.

I agree that it's a little ambiguous in the forum rules. I've seen many threads in which other members tried arguing about what they understood the rules to mean before they ended up banned. You're certainly free to read the forum rules yourself and make your own determination.

I was just offering almir2 the most likely reason that he keeps having his signature deleted by the mods. As stated at the end of my last post, the info I provided is simply an evaluation based on my own observations of how the forum rules are enforced.

I interpret the 'text URL' exactly the same as you Greywolf.

Technically, URLs were 'links' long before the term 'URL' became
widely used whether it is 'clickable' or not.

Another one here.

I´ve tried contacting some mods before...

There´s just no way I can upload a custom avatar.

If I put in the image url it says

Code:

Upload failed due to failure writing temporary file.

If I try to upload from my pc then I get that mirrored image from another user.

I notice some people have the same problem, while other newer members have custom avatars with apparently no further issues.

Just hoping on the train, since this thread got bumped.

They just added it yesterday.

It's a new membership level for people that have had their threads moved to VIP. Now when that happens the thread starter can still have access to their thread to continue the discussions. Also as an incentive for people to make really good shares, if that does happen the new level also has access to the other threads that have previously been moved.

I don't know if it is going to be automatic or just depend on the particular shares and overall merits of the member. It sounds like it's for the most part going to be the default result of having a thread moved.

It's a solution for all the people that thought it unfair when someones thread was moved to VIP and the thread starter couldn't participate in their own threads anymore.

That's weird - according to the rules, etc you meet all the requirements for a signature. (probably long ago)

I would shoot a PM to one of the Admins if I were you.

I'm currently a couple weeks away from being able to sign up for Jr. VIP. However, if I donate now, will I be automatically converted to Jr. VIP once I hit 60 days?

I have exactly the same problem. As soon as I add an image to the signature,
the whole signature never appears under the post. As soon as I change it to
text only, it's back up.

Can someone have a look at it pls?
