Auto Subscribed Threads? Turn off?

Is there a way to turn off the automatic subscription to threads after each post to each? It's pretty annoying to receive like 10 separate emails about each thread.

User CP --> Edit Options --> Default Thread Subscription Mode --> use drop down to change
