This forum is about the most helpful place to learn about making money that I have found. Even if you don't know much to start there will be other members willing to help. But that doesn't mean you should just go right out and start asking for help. There are a few things you should understand first. I'm not a moderator here, but the following tips are mostly common sense. This is all just basic etiquette applied to the topics of this forum, understanding it should be helpful for any forum you join.

Before you start a thread "I need to make $xxx a day/week/month, what do I need to do?" just remember those posts are against the T.O.S. (you did read the T.O.S. right?). What is the point of a thread like that anyway? You don't need to ask the question, you already found it.
The BHW forum IS THE ANSWER to your question!!!

There is a difference between a newbie member and being a noob. Are you expecting that everyone should start reposting every method already posted in the forum every time some noob starts a new thread? It doesn't work that way. Please refrain from making your first post until you have gone into the existing forums over on the left of your screen and completed reading a few threads. Spend a little time lurking on the forum, and learning the types of posts that other members will consider valuable. When you do start posting, take it easy. Make just a few posts sticking to a topic you are working with. Take it slow until you have an idea of the type of impression you're making.

Unless you are an experienced marketer with something that might contribute to the forum, there is very little reason to make a new post in an existing thread, and there is even less reason to be starting a new thread during the first few days of being a member. Even if you are experienced you should still lurk around the forum a little while to get an idea of what is already here. That cutting edge method you discovered and want to share right away, might already have been discussed before.

This forum is open to people of all skill levels and experience, but it is not a training forum for basic computer skills. Don't let that intimidate you. The BHW forums should be just one of the tools you are using. If you don't want to be seen as a noob, then you should also have other resources to learn from.

If you don't know html, php, web design, etc, this forum isn't a basic tutorial. BHW is where you can learn to implement many different scripts and codes, but you should have other resources available to learn the basics. It is expected that newbie members have a basic ability to perform their own searches on a search engine. You should at least understand how to use the search box on the BHW forum itself. If you see a term or abbreviation that you don't understand, try searching for it on google first. DP, WSO, OP, Social Bookmarking, backlinks, DNS, and many more terms noobs ask about over and over, can be answered with a quick search on google. There are even a few threads on BHW that have lists of terms and definitions if you take a minute to search for them.

Now pick that mouse up off the floor and I'll tell you where to find real help if you seriously want to know "How To Make Money."
First, click on the Forum Rules and READ the TOS so you know the rules of the forum. Violating these rules will most likely get you banned from the forum. It's also a good idea to read the FAQ. so you know how to use the various features of the forum.

Next, go to the Making Money subforum and start by READING the sticky threads. They were made sticky for a reason, they have the most pertinent information to the most commonly asked questions, and best methods for newbies to try.

After you've spent some time READING the sticky threads, go back through the Making Money forum and READ some of the other threads to see what other people are doing. You will find many, many methods posted and discussed, that are working for many people. Pick one and follow the instructions in the thread. Not every method is going to work for every person. With diligence and a bit of luck you might find one that can work for you.
It's not impossible, but very unlikely you will make an amazing amount of money starting out. But if you go through the threads and read what others are doing, then follow through on some methods, it's very possible that you can start making some money starting out and then build up over time. You certainly don't need a degree to be successful, but you do have to spend time learning and gaining experience.

The "secret" to success is diligence, and experience. There isn't a "TRICK TO MAKE MONEY."

Again. until you have spent time reading and learning something about methods already offered and discussed throughout BHW, there is no reason to post a reply, and especially no reason to start a new thread.

    **************************

Don't let any of that make you scared to ask a question here, or share some information. That's what the forum is about. If noone asked questions, or discussed topics there wouldn't be much value here.

Just use some common sense. If you follow the above guide lines you won't run in to many problems with other members. Remember a specific question posted in a pertinent thread will get you better results than starting a thread for a general question. If you do need to start a thread the same thing applies, a specific question will get better results that a general "Help Me Please" question.

When you're looking through the threads and see someone getting flamed for a post or thread, take notice of the post. Flaming isn't really encouraged on this forum any more than anyplace else. There are many members that have learned that the hard way when the mods banned their account instead of the member they were flaming. But if you've been a member for less than a month or so, and haven't made many posts of your own yet, don't try to argue about whether it should be flamed or not.

The mods will make their own determination about that. With a few exceptions, most of the time when someone gets flamed over an inappropriate post it should be taken as a lesson. There is usually a good reason they are getting flamed, you should look at it as a learning opportunity for yourself, so you know how not to make a similar mistake.

The same thing applies if it happens to one of your own posts.
Sometimes in the school of hard knocks, people get knocked down.
Just learn from it so you don't make the mistake again.
    great. thank you

Look guys, I understand that us newblets are annoying. But could we possibly have a bit less attitude from some people. I would be pissed too if I saw all sorts of "Dood, how do I make the $$$" posts but I have been reading a lot of the forum over this weekend and a lot of times I see simple legit questions being answered with utter rudeness.

You say to use the search feature. I have. Now please answer this. When I search for "X tactic" or "Y tool" how should such a brainless newb as myself tell the difference between threads that are really relevant or threads that are not. Pretty much anything I search comes up with pages and pages of results. I especially like when I get to the final posts of a thread that read "This doesn't work anymore." Well thank you for wasting my time. (Granted it is still a learning experience.)

My suggestion to this site is that if our newb questions annoy you so much then take a little time to organize the forums. It took me quite some time to even find this thread. Why would you put a newbie guide in "Suggestions and Feedback". As a newbie I can tell you I avoided this area because what possible input could I have on a forum I have just joined?

I apologize if I'm coming off in the wrong sort of way but it's just a bit frustrating to have such an awesome resource at my disposal and be able to do nothing with it because I'm not allowed to ask questions until I've read thousands of pages filled with "This doesn't work" "Yes it does, you're just not doing it right." etc etc etc

I think you could reduce the annoying newb questions quite easily with a newb section or something. All you would have to do is tag posts with something like "Newbie Friendly" or "Newbies Must Read".

Anyway... feel free to bash on my opinion now.

Honestly I wish I would have read this when I first started off,
I feel ridiculous, I think I made a fool out of myself asking for Methods, and being "spoon fed"
I have been a member since May, but I want to encourage all new members to Keep reading, and searching, this will weed out the passer byers,

When I first started reading threads, I felt VERY overwhelmed, but it is up until recently that all of this started making more sense, I am able to find the things I need

All the tools for Success are Here!!
It is up to the individual to be diligent

Hey Phoenix7813, I know it's been a few months since you posted this, but I thought I'd still go ahead and post an answer for you.

The point of this thread wasn't meant to apply to all new members. In fact most new members are smart enough to understand most of what was written in the original post without having to be told. People like you that search the forums and find this thread on your own, overall don't really even need to read it. It's still worth reading because you'll still find a bit of useful information (especially if you read through the whole thread because some other helpful tips have been added over time), but the thread wasn't actually targeted to you.

It was actually written to address those "Dood, how do I make the $$$" posts you mentioned. When the original post was written there was a massive influx of new members and the forum was a bit understaffed so there was a lot more of those "how do I make $xxx in the next 2 weeks" and other noob type posts.

Myself and a lot of other members were replying in those threads trying to educate those few new members that kept making those kind of noob posts before even browsing through the forums. Rather than continually re-writing the same thing over and over, I created this thread so that whenever there was a "noob" type post we could just tell them to take some time learning more about the forum before making anymore posts and give them a link to the forum rules and this thread.

After a while there were a number of new mods added and it became less of an issue, but when it's needed the thread is useful for it's intended purpose. It was made a sticky thread both so that new members who are smart enough to search out useful information on their own (like yourself) can find it sometime, but possibly even more importantly so that when anyone comes across any "noob" type threads (especially general "how can I make money" threads) it can be found quickly for anyone wanting to post the link in a reply to that "noob" type thread.

As far as the rude replies to new members in general... Well different people have different tolerance levels to seeing the same very basic questions being asked over and over again. My advice is that if you see a question (or even if you were the one who asked it) that seem to get rude answers, just take it as a learning experience. It won't help your reputation on the forum to get in an argument about it, and if the main reply is to "use the search" or something similar, then you should just figure that's a very common question that's been answered many times and you can probably find the answer to on your own. If you still can't figure out an answer then ask again, try to be a bit more specific if it seems that might help, and be sure to explain that you've already tried searching for an answer with no luck. You might still get a lmgtfy.com link, but that just gives you an answer to your question as well as teaching you something about how to form a good search query.

So for you and any other new members finding this thread on there own, please don't take offense. The thread most likely wasn't intended for you, but still take some time and read it. The advice is good for participating on any forum, and if you read though the whole thread you'll find a lot of useful tips on how to use various features of the forum.

My only suggestion: try to never, ever use those blue fonts on our black background because it is so difficult to read. That particular blue is also the color used for JR VIP. I can't read it unless I highlight it and turn it into white letters. All other colors are OK. Thanks
