"Thanks" button spammers on BHW... wtf?

Does anyone know why people are going around thanking every single poster in certain threads here at bhw? I mean, beyond the point of it being annoying, is there any real reason to jack up your number of thanks given? These people tend to have 0 posts too.

I have noticed what you're talking about though. One guy in paticular has started thanking evrybody under the sun for no reason at all. Oh well, whatever...

Were you referring to the use of the "Thanks" button , or simply replying to a post or a thread by saying "Thank you for this post"?
