Facebook Just Changed Their Email Settings, Go PROFIT!

Some time ago when FB introduced the email addresses linked to your account a few people had the bright idea of scraping fb usernames and then email [email protected] as this was what the email would look like, these emails where never getting through though or no one bothered/knew how to check them on the fb side...

I'm guessing the whole email thing was a flop for fb as today I got an email notification that they are now forwarding all the mail sent to [email protected] to your ACTUAL email address that they have on file for you!

What does this mean? Simple... Scrape fb usernames -> email [email protected] -> now rather than the message going to god knows where and never being opened, facebook will instead be forwarding the email right on to that users real email address...

I tested this sending an email from my hotmail account to [email protected] within 30 seconds I had the email in my actual email inbox, forwarded to me from fb

Don't think there is much more I need to say on the subject, I assume you can all spot the potential in this....

I got that email a few days back and O yes.... I have around 25k @facebook.com emails.... hehe I've made a pretty penny from it to say the least.

Yeah not new of course but what is new is the fact they've made it a lot easier and more productive for us now with this forwarding to a users actual email address.. No idea about hotmails limits, I would suggest setting up a mailing server to use rather than hotmail, then again perhaps hotmail is more trusted by fb, some testing needs done for these variables...

If you have to ask man then you really shouldn't be attempting this, open your mind the possibilities are huge with this....

One method... Find a niche group/fan page on fb, scrape the usernames of the members of the fan page.. Let's say this fan page is a car enthusiasts fan page... You now have a huge list of people you know are interested in cars... Blast those guys with some car related offers or products! Your email will go right to their email address that fb has stored for them..

There are countless ways to use this to your advantage!

I actually tried to do it from my domain email that I have, and its not going through, with google it works

See there we go! So hotmail and gmail are gos thus far, I think if you had a solid email setup with a trusted white listed domain it'd work from your own setup

Just tested it and it works! I have a separate folder for the Facebook notification emails but I get them with @facebookmail.com, the method you've mentioned uses @facebook.com so that's why I got the email straight to the inbox.

Tip to netmoney1: create a separate folder for the emails you get from @facebook.com so you won't get the spam in your inbox folder.

Lol slashback, do you use Google Alerts or any other mentions servise for "facebook scraper"? Everytime someone talks about that you're always there suggesting your software (which is pretty good at what it does).

Nothing personally against that, it just caught my eye.
