I sold the group awhile ago before pages were hot. I wouldn't do it with a group...If you can get a page with over 1 Million members that still has publishing rights, you can probably sell it for around $50,000. Good Luck!

Here is why im skeptical. A friend of mine purchase an IPOD and really hated it.
He created a group stating he was giving away his ipod to one lucky person.
Within 2 days he had over 200k friends who wanted this one ipod and it was growing like mad until it reached 250k. On the third day the group was deleted and his account banned.

Why? It was a legit giveaway. Im amazed that your group continued to grow without deletion or suspension.

ok so i am new to this facebook marketing thing and hoping that one of you gurus can fling a little of your knowledge my way.

The risk for buying huge fb groups or pages for big amounts of money and getting them disabled in 2 days is too big.That is why no one has ever sold a 1 million members page or group.I am not saying you cannot make money from them, what I am saying is that no one will take the chance of buying it for 50k$, it is ridiculous.

With regards to hiring someone to add fans, take a search on the BST section, postergal is there and a couple of others, use the search function for this section, people offer it throughout the threads here too.

As far as friend amounts go, a good 30,000 ish. This would make a good start to boost the group. The more the merrier for viral groups. Although it doesn't work with just any group. Must be interesting and targeted!

Its also easier to hide your costumers or group members
Fan page likers can easily be copied with a bot

If someone knows how to extract from private groups that would be hella intersting for me!

Fan pages are going to generally be your best option, but groups have their own perks as well.

Yeah, this is a really old thread. Especially the foundation of the thread which is build up a fb group and then sell it for $10k. Can you even do that anymore? I'd think the risk of getting the group deleted would make that kind of price impractical.

There might be some useful info in the thread about how to build up a group, so it might be worth reading once. But most of it is old methods that don't work anymore, so there isn't any reason to add replies like "I'm gonna try this" or "thanks for the share".

I wish people would stop bumping this thread.

I am sorry to bump this thread bro, but to answer your question, it is highly unlikely that you will be able to create a group and sell it for $10,000 (these days).

The group would require A LOT of ACTIVE members, a VERY unique idea, etc.

Furthermore, I agree with you. This thread is a good read when it comes to building up a group, but the foundation of this thread is pretty much useless now.

The MONEY that you could make off of a fan page that large- it's nothing compared to what they purchased it for. That's a massive audience, and they know how to milk it.

Is anyone even using group anymore? It seems like fan pages have made things much easier.

Guys.. you dont have to start a group... just join one or a hundred... send a message on their wall that gets LIKED.. now they are YOUR LIST..tada.. how easy is that...
