How to promote a Facebook group?

I run some regional/local sites and want to promote them through Facebook groups. Is there a good way to promote groups within your regional network? Thanks

Get / create / buy 50,000 fb accounts and add them all to your group

It takes work... I am a leading promoter in the south florida area and what we did to increase our numbers was just literally sitting down and writing ad copy..

Such as... My name is Bob and I will be hosting fashion shows & club events thru out the area.

Feel free to add me as a friend for guest lists and bottle service....

Now once they add you as a friend repeat using viewing there friends so that you will be friends of friends... Once you get 500 or so... create the group and if youve established rapport with some facebook people just kindly ask them to invite there friends to your group...
