I've just noticed a couple hundred of my accounts have been put in verification mode. The old birth date verification is gone instead I get a set of 7 8 photos asking me to select the name for each tagged friend..

Seems to me this has put an end somehow to fake accounts. My accounts are basically useless unless I am a genius at guessing

what r your thoughts on this?

I guess it was a temporary test they were doing, anyone noticed it? I was just about to do a few screens of the whole process but I see on 20 30 accounts tested, same ones I logged into before.. are back to normal birth date verification.

If facebook chooses to go with these kind of id verification methods yes, many will loose their accounts witch pretty much sucks for them too.

probably some temporary testing stuff like you said. If they're gonna do that, they'd sure loose hell a lot of people.

Yes, there was a very similar thread some weeks ago, where a member noticed that he had to name his friends by photo.

I think (but not sure yet anymore) that there was also a simple solution to this. You just had to login in another account, search for the pictures, write down the names, and voila --> account verificated.

It could be a tester to see how it works, and to see if users comply with what is being asked. If users aren't replying with the answers, they may think "scrap this" and
go back to d.o.b

I hate this tagged photo verification. Almost all my accounts have this now. If you got one wrong answer, you have to wait for one hour, and do process again. Its seems that its not the profile photo, its one of the photos the owners have, that would make this verification very hard to solve. For me I rather make new account than answering this shit verification.

This is what I think it is. Let me guess, when you stumbled upon the photo verification roadblock it said your accounts were "temporarily suspended?" If so, this happened to me yesterday, and I think I know why this is. For me, it was due to excessive wall posting, but the accounts were aged (non-PVA), so FB wasn't going to delete them. Why? For all they know they could be hacked accounts (mine are not). However, the fact of the matter is, a lot of people do use hacked accounts, and if FB was to go around deleting every hacked account a spammer was abusing, it would only cause MAJOR headaches and MAJOR repercussions for their company that they are trying so hard to bring to the top.

So therefore you get the photo verification. Why? If this was a hacked account, the real owner should be able to pass the photo verification. However, not all of my accounts that hit the roadblock yesterday received the photo verification; some received the DOB verification, but not the majority. Your best bet is to let the roadblocked accounts sit for at least 24 hours (maybe more) and it will usually switch back to the DOB verification. Why? Once again, what if this was an innocent person's account? Maybe they couldn't pass the photo verification so since FB doesn't want to lose them or get a bunch of annoying E-mails, they offer up the much easier DOB verification.

IMHO, this is my theory, and I think I am correct. If you have not run across the "temporarily suspended" roadblock yet, wait until you do and it will make more sense. Also, let me include the fact that the accounts that were roadblocked by the DOB verification yesterday that I successfully recovered were then forced to change their password. Why? FB thinks the account had been compromised; they even mention that in the "temporarily suspended" message.

Furthermore, I know for a fact that A LOT of script kiddies are phishing and using hacked accounts, very carelessly...and why not? They are hacked accounts and these kids are stupid. Regardless, if FB was to just simply delete them it would cause them a world of trouble in many different ways.

I have not seen anything like photo ID verification in facebook.
So I have no idea about this.
I think may be a new application.

Huh..I created a few accounts manually today and the verification process was only phone number based. I believe they are trying these photo ID stuff either by country or to a limited user group under suspicion.

i agree depending on the country the limits are in place also be careful with your IP's used. I noted there seems to eb a big difference depending on the service provider used and if the IPS have been flagged

Darn, I wish I saw this earlier. He just rolled me for $50. I am searching for him on here but he is invisible to me. Is there a way he can block me so I can't find him? I think this scammer actually blocked me after scamming me. I sent him $50 to freelancer.com his ID is Woltech. I'll take this to the right forum so I can save the rest of you the heartache of getting scammed.

I am sorry to hear about this. I am currently on the brink of going to the Shit List if I do not get a refund pretty soon from a member here who is a Jr. VIP and a donor. I have been kind enough to hold off this long and it has almost been a month since I sent him $100. The money is not the point, I can literally wipe my ass with that $100. The point is, so far I am being scammed. He disappeared for approximately two weeks two days after I sent the payment. I will save the rest of the story for the Shit List when I decide to take it there. I am about to send him a PM and if I do not get a response fairly soon, to the Shit List I go.

Not easily. They've had the geoip roadblock in place for a good six months. It makes hacked accounts worthless. Sure you could find out the birthday for some account but most now omit the year.

It's a test but they probably won't fully implement this because people tag other people in pictures even if they aren't in them and tag people in those stuipd things like this:

nobody will be able to answer those so they won't do it for the same reason that they let you have unlimited logins from one ip... because they don't want to suspend innocent accounts.

And I don't think facebook will delete your account as Money Man pointed out they will just suspend it temporarily. If you figured out how to delete your facebook account then you might become famous cuz nobody can figure out how to do that.

With some clever thinking and geo-targeting of IPs, this can be overcome very easily. Most people just do not think outside of the box, but I do not used hacked accounts anyway, so I do not care.

It is not hard to deactivate a FB account.

I recently lost access to my FB account. Attempted to log in while on vacation and have been stuck in the verification process every since. It simply will not get out of the photo id process. I had almost 1500 friends and the photos change every time. I have let it sit for several days hoping that it would go back to DOB verification, but it hasn't.

I've opened a new FB acct but it really sucks as I used my other acct mostly for gaming with friends and several of my games I had advanced fairly far in. I've tried contacting FB and am just getting the run around.

Any advice or anything else I can try?
