If you're absolutely new, then look for what other people are doing. If you need step-by-step instructions on this, make a FB account, find a mass add list, add all the people on that list, and then wait a couple of days to see what groups, events or fan pages you get invited to.
As far as monetization goes, I'd start out with something like Amazon, Clickbooth or Clickbank affiliates.
