Default Craigslist autoreply

Anyone know of any software or script that can setup a autoresponder for craigslist ads?

The problem is that gmail dont work well.. Because it replies to...

bounce-anon-nicknickname=gmail.com@craigslist.org

instead of

nicknickname@gmail.com

Any suggestions?

Correct me if I did not understand you correctly ...

but from my point of view it looks like your auto-response does not get through because of craigslist system. Are you by any chance posting an ad and then asking the viewer to reply to the email address? And are you using craigslist email "security" that gives you .....@craigs...?

If so the the solution is easy: use your email address and don't opt in for the craigslist "security". Post your ad showing your real email address ..

Now your responder (gmail and all others) can get the right send email address as it is not funneled through craigslist.
Also you might want to have a look at this threat regarding auto-responders

I have a question about the domains email... If you forward your gmails to your pop on your domains email... and then use a program to pop from your domains email...

Does it inbox? ... or does it go to junk/spam for hotmail, gmail, and yahoo?

My concern would be that it doesn't get in the users inbox...

Anybody have insight into this?

I must have a brain problem ... can't understand anything today ...

cypionate, did you mean:

email->your gmail inbox->forward to pop account on your domain? And the question was whether you will receive them email in your inbox? well, if you use gmail, then they will filter no matter what (even if you use them only for forwarding purposes, can't say anything about hotmail or yahoo)

hope that this was your question ... or did you mean ...

once you receive the email(as described above) you will use your pop to send it to someone else? And whether this user will receive it? The the answer is yes (if you are not using an auto-responder)

Nixte - Sorry... Let me clarify my question a little bit.

I post an ad on CL.
I use a @gmail for the reply address.
People sent the email to the @gmail.
The @gmail then forward to my @yourdomain.com email account.

I use a auto-reply program and point the auto-reply program to pull all the emails from my @yourdomain.com email account and reply to all the emails in there.

My question is this... When I send a reply to all the messages will the message go in the users inbox if they are at a @hotmail, @yahoo, or @gmail email address?

I am just thinking if you are sending email from joeblow@yourdomain.com to a targetuser@yahoo.com - your @youdomain.com might not be a "whitelisted" domain, thus your message ends up in their spam/junk folder.

I know if you start to bulk email and the email originates from a domain you own... You might not get into the target user's inbox... The bulk emailing might trigger as spam and wind up in the target user's spam/junk folder.

I was wondering what peoples experience was on this...

Cyp

Cyp , sorry had a bad day yesterday ....

I am using a similar system only that I skip the forwarding part and use my auto-responder application to directly use the gmail account. Meaning it downloads the message and then according to the filters sends the reply. Using my gmail directly I have not seen any problems yet.

Speaking about your settings ... I would imagine that it might become a problem if enough people flag (report) you... and then kind of content you sent in your email.

When you send the reply, do you leave the original email included? I ask as someone / something might see that the sender send it to one address and got an reply from another!

Sorry again ... I should shut up if I don't feel well...
