Unhappy Please Help! Mass Email through a Router

Hi, I am having great success with my email campaigns but ran into a minor complication. I added 2 more computers in my home with a Linksys router, and my emails not only go out slower, but also less of them make it successfully. For instance... Without the router I can successfully send 60-75% of the emails, doesn't matter the quantity whether it's 1000 or 10,000, but when I send them through the Linksys I get a much slower send rate and I get between a 15-20% success rate, a drastic drop. I use multiple kinds of programs to get them out, Thunderbird using multiple accounts and proxies, a couple different bulk email softwares, and I rotate ISP's as well. Can anyone please tell me why the linksys is doing this? and oh yeah, I first purchased a D-link and it was even worse. Thank you.

It's obvious. A consumer level network connection is not designed for business activities such as sending a large volume of email. Adding a linksys router shouldn't slow it down, there's probably something wrong with the configuration. The one thing that comes to mind is DNS issues. I have a linkshit router and I can open thousands of connections in a few seconds with no problem.

Thank you, that makes a lot of sense. I actually had a business account with a static ip from Road Runner, and you're correct, there was no problems with emailing speeds, and they supplied the router. The problem I kept having with them though is that even though I was sending opt in emails, Road Runner would cut me off at least once a month claiming spam, then I went to double opt in as they requested, but after about 8 weeks I was cut off again. I since went back to my original ISP and I have had zero problem with spam, especially with the double opt, but sacrificed speed and success rate. I will try to config the router, any suggestions?

if its a wrt54g upgrade the firmware to ddwrt, it will not only add a shit load more features but you can set many more options that the default firmware wont allow.

plus, if its a wifi router you can boost your power from the linksys 28mw to 251mw increaing range and speed for wifi devices

Increasing your transmit power causes more noise and shittier connection over greater distance. The stock antenna were not designed to deal with that power output nor was the radio..

Anyways, if you're mailing "double-optin" you should just go with a service like getresponse or aweber.. Your delivery rates will be better, you will not have speed issues and everything will be more organized.

Thanks again to everyone for the comments. I went with the hard wire broadband Linksys, not the wireless. I also joined Aweber a couple months ago, I am still Learning all it's tools. I think my ultimate goal is going to be a VDS, sorry if I'm changing the subject and maybe I should ask this question in a new thread about starting a VDS, thanks again.
