Default Anyone use Aweber?

I'm thinking about setting up a newsletter on one of my better-selling product sites. Do a lot of people sign up for the newsletter who wouldn't have bought the product?

Is Aweber easy enough to use?

We have used Awber for the better of 3 years now. Snap to set-up and get going. Plus loads of support. Yes, people will sign-up for additional/ongoing information, but you need to give them a reason why to do so. And, again this all depends on your market.

Aweber gets the job done. Solid interface, pretty accurate click tracking, much better than competitors in my opinion(tried getresponse, # of hosting and desktop apps).

There are always going people that sign up that don't buy the product, but you will find natural conversions if you send out enough decent broadcasts(not shitty ones begging them to buy)

Just to elaborate, try to be creative with your broadcasts; do not act condescending, abusive, or pathetic. Be informative and let them know what kind of opportunity you are providing.

Aweber is great. I agree it depends on the market, I used to get around 25-35 sign ups from around 100 visitors a day for internet marketing

So do you have to give Aweber your personal business information? And does everyone who signs up get your personal business information?

yes, aweber gets all the leads in their system (and if one day an employee of them decides to take a sneak peak, well they are spam-meat then........), but they are providing good delivery rates. on the other side, you can't even mention adult products... well, they have to be picky (I don't use them - I only go for inhouse-stuff I wrote )

Well here's the thing. I'd love to use a newsletter. I sell a simple product and just want to catch a few more visitors so there's no spamming or anything going on with my newsletter. I signed up with Email Marketing with Godaddy but it seems to want my business information and wants to give it to everyone who signs up as well. I don't really like that because I typically sell to Americans and charge american dollars and don't want them to clearly see me as a Canadian business.

So anyway, back to this thing:

I have newsletter software like Effective Newsletter Studio. I might just use it. But I don't know how the email addresses work or the form for getting people to sign up. Or the smtp way to work it.

How does subscribing and unsubscribing work? Do you just use regular email addresses or do you have to set them up some special way?

acrimon I see that you are interested in using aweber. If you sign up through my affiliate link I can give you a 10% rebate when i get paid. PM me if interested.

And well regarding your question most of the time you will just need a normal email address.

Similar to a squeeze page people can enter their email address and any other details and than subscribe. Hope this helps.

Aweber is having some issues lately when it comes to receiving double opt-in confirmations. I have noticed a big drop lately from major ISPs.

There are better services out there like icontact and email labs - but they're more expensive and not as simple to use like aweber is.

But with aweber do I have to include my business information? Is that given to anyone who subscribes?
