i just want to know if i can get screwed for selling something which people are thinking is something else

for example in my ad it clearly stated there is no " mark" on one side people are presuming its not on both sides and buying them off me like mad but am i in the clear?

whoever ask's me a question im telling them its got a "mark" on it but most of them are clicking buy it now and im sure they will be in for a shock when i send them the products ive sold over 300 today also someone copied my ad and i reported them to ebay

So if it was anything dodgy or misleading ebay would stop the ad? but they have replied to me saying they made the other chap stop his ad for copyright

im just shitting myself as i cant believe how much im making here

You could say something like "however the two sides are not identical. As opposed to the right side, the left has no visible marks."

As long as you earn enough to pay a lawyer and make a profit i guess you'll be OK. On ther other hand this is fraud i think, which is a bit beyond blackhat.

yes but im not lying in my ad Ebay have supported my complaints regarding the other's who copied my ad. So if there was anything illegal in my description would'nt they shut me down by now? its been 2 days my ads have been running people are thinking they are buying something else is that my fault?

Its like some ads say nokia n96 give you all the description of the phone then underneathe they state

mines totally different though i sold 250 yesterday and over 300 today the idiots are going mad but i just want to cover myself

don't be surprised if they all of a sudden ban you coz it happens alot with all types of payment stuff especially with cpa networks, so be prepared for your big ban and don't do fraud like this again

Beg to differ farfetched, Chinese clones usually have marks on the - the iphone logo comes to mind, mispelled and the apple has a bite on the wrong side etc

I know there are some dumb sh!ts out there but beware buddy fraud is fraud - assuming you live in the uk and are selling to the uk - you may have to worry about more than Egay! take care especially with coins of the realm!

Well if you mean screwed like the screwing you are doing to people then no. They are being lied to and sold an item that isn't what they expect to get.

It's funny to see people come on here and after they are doing something THEY KNOW is wrong asking if they can get in trouble for it.

Now that being said if it was you who got taken advantage of how would you feel? What would you do? Some will just feel duped and too embarrassed to do anything others will complain.

But get that one wrong person who knows that you did this on purpose and it will make there mission to ruin your day if not your life.

As an example of people just thinking its okay to mislead people heres a nice scam that I ran into about 9 years ago. I went to a Computer show locally and purchased a (thought new) Viewsonic 19" CRT that the reseller was selling for about $500 US which was about 100 cheaper than retail I had seen anywhere. they told me it carried the Factory Warranty but if it failed I needed to send it to there strore for replacement..

They failed to take out the stamped(refurb) manual and i tried to register it through viewsonic and they said it was refurb. To shorten this story considerably. They reseller committed advertising fraud I called the FTC and Viewsonic and the They got shut Down not sure if arrested now this was just a small PC store in Northern Maryland but they pretty much lost all they had worked(defrauding people) to build.

So the Moral of the story is this. There is GREAT money in Fraud but if you would happen to do it to someone on here or with the similar mentality be prepared for a fight

brill speaks the truth. Sometimes the issue isn't whether what you are doing is illegal or not. People will be pissed off and some will want to do something back. If someone sold me a fake coin at a shop or something, and it became obvious right away after giving him the $50 for it, and he's standing right in front of me not giving the money back... I would probably punch him in the face.

Fortunately you can get away with things online if you're smart enough

I read your ad and it obviously said no date queen side, which would lead me to believe that there would be one on the other side so I wouldnt be fooled.... but you also say "undated" which is what gets you in trouble.

If you take the "undated" out and are still making sales then you are fine... But the way it is now, you could be pretty fucked...

I think your gonna get all of your sales disputed and refunded, and then you will be down a couple thousand in ebay fees, so have fun with that....

Some of those people will try their best to make your life a misery. Your name and address will be all over the internet. The forums and scam sites will become like chinese whispers, and before you know it the crimes you are being accused of will be far more than the ones you committed.

It was a single coin that sold for 51 pounds and had 15 bids.

One of my friends did a similar thing by selling something that wasn't entirely what the buyer was expecting. Sold lots of the same item. His house was raided by CID and he was up for 61 accounts of fraud and was sentenced to two years.

Correct me if I am wrong but the new paypal system won't release the money until they verify that the buyer received the item. By that time they will put a dispute and you are fucked you won't have enough time to get your money out of paypal... but i might be wrong... good luck regardless
