Daily eBay Tips, Methods & Information
I spent some time drawing up ideas for an eBay eBook.
I've came to the conclusion that it would be better to just offer the tips to those of BHW.
I'll drip feed the tips gradually. Hopefully we can get a discussion going and learn something.
Feel free to post your own and ask any questions!

Re: Daily eBay Tips, Methods & Information
Ensure your username is meaningful and easy to remember.
Don't miss spell words because they are taken by someone else such as "new" & "nu" This can confuse buyers and lead them to purchase from another seller with a similar username.
Choose a name related to what you're selling.
For example if you are selling iPhone's you could use the name ******iPhones, ***Phones, Phones***, 101iPhones etc.

Great advice. I actually started on eBay recently, with an old account of mine. Problem is, the name is pretty..boring and generic. I believe we can change our username though, correct?

To answer your question, if you dont like your name or decide to go into a different niche you may want to change your username to something relevant.
eBay allows username changes once every 30 days. Once changed your feedback and all info will be attached to the new name.
Buyers will recognise your username and may bookmark it for future purchases.
If you change username too many times they will be unable to find your items.

Re: Daily eBay Tips, Methods & Information
Also, when selling stuff...so it seems like the best thing to do is wait till the buyer receives the item, they leave you feedback, THEN you leave them feedback.
Unfortunately, for my first few sales, I made the mistake of leaving feedback as soon as they paid. One of my buyers received the item 2-3 days ago, hasn't left feedback. In such cases, would it be a bad idea to contact them and ask them if they would take a moment to rate their experience with us? Or is this against some sort of eBay rule?

This used to be the case, when both buyers and sellers could leave neg feedback. Now, since there's no use in waiting, just leave it and move on.
Send a follow up email in a few days if they haven't left you feedback. The customer feedback process now is pretty clunky, so you're going to find that you have to sell a couple items before getting feedback.

The top eBay sellers, including myself have set up automated feedback.
Once a buyer pays feedback is automatically left.
You should always leave feedback for your clients, as then they are more likely to return the favour.
However, after a week or two if they haven't left feedback there's nothing against asking them to leave feedback for their purchase. As long as you put it across in a nice way they will then give you a rating.

As long as your legit? *you're
Did you see my first point about the username. This has nothing to do with legal/illegal dealing.

I'd say just start building feedback. It will be difficult to sell expensive electronics when your account has no feedback. Start selling some cheap stuff around your house to gain feedback.

Theres an app on ebay "feedback pro" if i remember correctly!
If you have it feedback is left automatically and it sends messages after some weeks to people who doesnt left feedback
Its fully customized and its something like 8-9$ per month

Yes, and also buy lots of small low cost items to build your feedback faster.

its called selling manager pro, its really for high volume sellers and in the UK is 4.95 per month
it automates a lot of what you need to do re emails to customers , feedback etc
standard selling manager should be good enough if you are just starting out
if you hit volumes then the pro is well worth it, you get if free for the first 30 days

Re: Daily eBay Tips, Methods & Information
Great thread so far guys, let's keep it going.
Btw, it seems like if you're account is aged, buying cheap items to raise your feedback actually works quite well. I haven't had any problems so far (account is over a year and a half old). Buying roughly 3-4 cheap items a day ($0.09 + free shipping).

Photoshop is your friend.
If you don't know how to use it, pay someone here to do it.

Re: Daily eBay Tips, Methods & Information
Is there any alternative to ebay because I have a really good product but now it seems that with ebay's updated policy, they are closing all the listing related to my product.

Re: Daily eBay Tips, Methods & Information
Once an item is shown as delivered and feedback hasnt been left for the seller an automated system should be put in place to leave the seller feedback automatically should the buyer not leave feedback because I know I should have at least 200 more feedback just on one acct from buyers not leaving feedback. Speaking of which the op is banned and owes me 1000 twitter followers lol
