Default Selling limit..I don't get it

Alright, so my account is pretty old. From 2010. I've bought and sold there a couple of times (I only have 2 feedback though, because some assh*les never want to leave feedback haha).

Anyways, my selling limit is at 10 items a month. I thought limits were only for accounts that were less than 90 days old?

Should I go ahead and call eBay and request an increase? I usually sell old college books on there, SEO services, etc.. Nothing illegal and stuff. Any advice?

improve your rankings - selling limit is put up when you start getting negative feedback

I suggest buying lots of 1p items to get the feedback up. This may lift the limit.

yes, i'm sure that can be 1 of the reasons (a client of mine had this problem)

.. basically it means -> eBay doesn't trust you (you should know why)

Not true, I have over 130 feedback. All positive. I got a selling limit, $165,000.00 per month. Most have selling limits, they just don't know. Best thing to do is call ebay, stay on hold for a bit. See what you can do to get your limit raised. They will probably give you a few things you can do.

Every account is assessed on a individual basis.
Based on the items you sell and the risk associated with them.

You generally have to max out your limits in terms of transactions and monetary amounts.

Leaving your account to just age isn't really a option now days.

Calling ebay probably won't help, i did and they said there is nothing they can do, they told me the only thing you can do (in your case) is sell those 10 items and then a link should pop up to request higher limits they then review your account and see if they'll raise them or not based on how well your customers were satisfied, so make sure you get positive feedback and 5 star dsr's from your customers

keep selling, keep getting good feedback and it will go up

encourage the buyers to leave feedback too as less than 50% do now

What i learned from PayPal/eBay is that there's no logic in what they do. They can randomly just turn off the limit after you sell some stuff.

Hit your 10-item limit and then ring eBay and they should lift it for you, provided that you can verify some of your details.

You need to setup a penny auction sell atleast 200 paperclips or pictures or something cheap and simple make sure the auction is setup to sell more than one item at a time, once you sell 200 items and get the good feedback they will give you a very high selling limit. I do this all the time on accounts that I create.

Actually, I followed the automated instructions and was able to increase my limit to 100 items per month, $5000 worth. That should be fine for now

For anybody looking to increase limits, purchasing cheap items to artificially boost your rating is a bad idea as excessive "feedback boosting" is a quick path to limitation. Increase your feedback or call in if your account is more than 90 days old.

My account was created June of 2010. Only had like 5 feedback up until last week. Since then, I've been purchasing 2-3 cheap items a day (coupons, iPhone covers, etc.).

I've also sold like 5 things over the last few days, and have a whole bunch more listed.

Do you think that should be a problem (buying 2-3 cheap items a day)?

If you buy a bunch of cheap items for 1 cent to get feedbacks boosted, eBay might scratch their head and wonder why.

The best, easiest, and cheapest way is to give them a call and tell them your plan.
