I got negative feedback but the buyer never paid
So I sold an item on ebay and waited for the buyer to pay and a week went by so I filed an unpaid item dispute and then
a few days later the buyer leaves negative feedback and in the comments they put the word "FAKE".
So not only did they never pay, but they obviously never received the item either so how can they get away with saying it's
fake and leave negative feedback?
Anyone ever have something like this happen and can I get the feedback removed?

have you closed the unpaid item dispute/case? (choosing the "buyer didn't pay" option), you need to wait for at least 3 days to close it.
that way, you will receive your final value fee, the buyer will get an unpaid item strike, and the negative feedback will be removed automatically

Sue them. Literally. If you sell anything on eBay and someone does or says anything that greatly affects future business in a negative way by libel, you can sue them, and winning isn't hard showing that they didn't even pay you.
"In the United States, the person first must prove that the statement was false. Second, that person must prove that the statement caused harm. And, third, they must prove that the statement was made without adequate research into the truthfulness of the statement."
Were you trying to sell a fake hat or something? Go buy the real thing and use that as proof that your item isn't fake.

Sueing would be a waste of time. You still have to chase them down and get the money.
Call ebay, they should fix it.

the best and only way it's to contact ebay and tell the story. There's no reason you should sue for that, cuz it's just a waster of time and money

Not really, all instances I have dealt with have been settled out of court for just a couple hundred dollars paid by the defendant. I pay my attorney $60 per settlement, he just sends a notice and does the bargaining.

You can get the feedback removed. Long story short. I left a person bad feedback after I didnt pay. They also left me some. They contacted ebay and had it removed. So I tried my luck and also got mine removed. I had got him to say in anger that even if I paid he wouldnt send the item. I think thats why mine was allowed to be removed. Just contact them on the chat. It takes about 5 minutes.

I actually did this. I closed the case after 4 days and I received my final value fee and they got their unpaid
item strike but the feedback was never removed automatically.

Not sure if it would make a difference or not but the buyer is from Australia and I'm in the US. Might be harder to sue?
Also the item was real and it was the first time I ever even tried so sell anything like it.

I've contacted ebay but only through email since that is the only option they gave me.
I've also noticed that the only way to contact them now besides email is by phone? What happened to the live chat?
Did they get rid of their live chat support?

You can still go after them. You just need to find an Australian based attorney.

call ebay. i've dealt with bs like this. its "abuse of the feedback system" as ebay will say. itll tale 5-7 business days once they put a ticket in but itll get removed.
protip: ask to be moved to the feedback department when someone picks up the phone.

In the meantime you can respond to the feed back and additionally neg him back. Doesn't ever affect my sales as ling as the response is professional.

It should've been removed automatically although this same kind of thing happened to me once, buyer never paid but left a negative feedback saying that I wouldn't reduce the shipping cost. I contacted ebay and they said they couldn't do anything about it. So I have to contact the buyer and tell them to revise the feedback, luckily he did..

As far as I am concern, you can not leave negative feedbacks to buyers. The options are "leave a positive feedback now" or "leave a positive feedback later".
