Turnkey websites on eBay
Hello, i'm pretty new here
This is my first thread and i wanted to ask has anyone purchased an "established" website off of eBay? If so, how has the process been? Are these websites useless or no? I do understand with a webstore that it involves time, investment, and dedication. I am considering buying a couple of websites from there but wanted to get some feedback from anyone who has done business there. Thanks

Re: Turnkey websites on eBay
Havent done it but looks like some decent deals. At least for design and turn-key'ness. Domains seem kinda expensive although I'm sure there are deals to be had.

Re: Turnkey websites on eBay
For the most part the "Turnkey" sites sold on ebay are sites based on free scripts that you can find here on BHW or just about anywhere with a little research.
Most of the sellers aren't even offering a domain with the "sites".
They want you to win their auction, buy a domain and hosting from them.
The sites have no links, no profit and for the most part the sellers have no clue how to make a profitable site. . . they just plan on taking advantage of noobs with a dream that believe their pie in the sky crap they preach in their listings . .
Always looking for the something new to sell . . .

Re: Turnkey websites on eBay
Before buying, maybe you want to read some threads at this very forum ("Site flipping" section, into more general "Making money" section).
Very good info there, particularly about "due dilligence" duties for buyers.
Also, for what I´ve heard, Flippa is the main marketplace for this you intend to do.

Re: Turnkey websites on eBay
Most script based websites bought on eBay will end up with bugs and you may depending on your skill level have problems fixing bugs. And I can assure you the seller won't have a clue about upgrading or fixing bugs.
I'd recommend buying a MNS site from one of the members on here. You're more likely to get success with a site created by a reputable member on here than you will from a buyer on eBay.
Just check out the service for sale section.

Re: Turnkey websites on eBay
Most of the website on eBay are using the same script and being sold again and again.
However, few of the expensive one are not the same case. I certainly don't want to have a copy cat website.

BlackCat got it right--most (and i mean 98% of it all) of those "turnkey" sites are useless and put basic scripts together. If you want to invest more money into something that is already generating income, get on Flippa, would be my suggestion. Of course with most things in life (and I mean 98% of the time), you get what you pay for.
