http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stihl
From the Wikipedia page:
In the mid-1970s Stihl expanded the company by building manufacturing plants in Brazil and in the United States. Much of the increased demand came from the construction and landscaping markets. Along with the professional markets, Stihl designed a number of homeowner use equipment, like blowers, line trimmers, edgers, and chain saws.
In 2008, the newest Stihl production facility is a plant located in Qingdao, China.

Re: stihl chainsaws... VERO!??
Not all VeRO is about replicas and stuff.
In fact, most of the VeRO program is about companies trying to protect their brands and see eBay as a platform that tarnishes their brand name because it offers less control by the brand owner especially when it comes to price control. (The brand owner demanding that a store can not sell their product for less than a certain amount) An eBay seller also has much less overhead and can sell items for less than a physical store could. Also, eBay affects agreements between brands and store owners, where a store owner would want to carry a product to increase traffic to their stores to sell that specific item and other similar items.
eBay, being a competitive market place where people sell goods from a non-business standpoint, meaning they sell an item to recoup a cost or just to simply sell it and not for a profit, is damaging to a businesses brand in which they have spent millions to create an uphold.
MANY companies absolutely do not want their items being sold on eBay. It's bad for business.

Re: stihl chainsaws... VERO!??
There are lots of fake stihls from china, i'd feel pretty guilty selling a fake chainsaw...i mean a handbag is one thing, but a tool with a spinning chain with sharp bits on it?
They also make fake husqvarnas...

Re: stihl chainsaws... VERO!??
I'm not sure if they are vero...but I can get authentics. Totally not my niche.
I can get pallets of tools. cost is $850 per pallet with a three pallet minimum. (that's with me not making a dime of profit).
