Default Finding New Products Or Niches For Ebay?

    Hello,

Ive just started selling on Ebay, and after finding out how to get good rankings in ebay, Im now looking for more products to buy and sell, Is there any good tips or services/programs out there to find new or less competition items on ebay?

Ive been using Ebay Pulse but everything I see on there is way to competitive.

One site every serious seller needs to subscribe to: terapeak.com

terapeak is to ebay as google keyword tool is to the IM world. It does come with a small price, but it's worth it's weight in gold. There is no way my business would be what it is without terapeak

I don't understand Terapeak...Like I understand that it gives me information on when people are buying certain products...However the trends are weird...Like HOT SELLER "Gold Coins"

Like...Those aren't items I can buy and resell...so how did that help me?

Ebaypulse is a good start. You have to just spend time searching randomly through different categories. I like to look at all the listings of other sellers and view their completed listings.

Sorry for the cryptic message. I just found it funny that the posters essentially answered themselves within their post.

That's how you can find Gems... by spying on your competition. I do that all the time, and I find new things they are selling that no one else is.. that is until I enter the market

Just because you think* You can't get gold coins does not mean you can't. (Don't take this literall)

The trends are not weird, the trends are telling you what the demand is. If the demand is in gold coins then find a way to get gold coins.

If the demand is in 4' steel pipes, then go find someone who can sell you steel pipes for cheap.

I gotcha. Sometimes your competitors may be selling something that you don't realize.. and they may be selling A LOT of that item.

I can't say how many times my competitors have had items slip below my radar, until I analyze their sales and I see they may be selling an item that sold 50 the past 30 days with a good margin (based on supplier pricing)

    Hi hitch,

Been looking on terapeak, do you have any methods for finding gems, currentlys I've been checking the highest selling products via category's and subs. So far found 1 but after customs and import tax I would actually be losing money.

Terapeak seems to be a solution for US / UK / Aus / Germany / France, but what would be a valid international organ to study?
Although My country is next to France/Germany, I seriously doubt the items will sell as good.

It's not a gem, if you can't get a deal on it. Also, don't look at small light weight items like cell phone cases, and car chargers.. anyhting that is small and lightweight for the most part is going to be easy to fly in from china, meaning the competition is going to fierce.

The other trick is, NEVER FLY anything in via DHL or FedEX . I only get samples flown over.. to compete with the big boys and make money like the big boys, you need to get the items shipped in via sea freight. Sea freight scares a lot of people, so your competition is decreased.

Sea freight will only cost you a fraction of express.

You may spend a little more upfront (as you should buy a higher QTY) but you will make exponentially more.

You don't have to get the items shipped in a full 20' container, you can ship them in LCL (less then container load) , and at the dock in NY or LA or wherever it comes in, it will get stripped down then "railed" (sent on a train) to your final destination where you can go pick it up.

Anyway I know I went off again, but it's important to know the details. You can't look at small things that's easy to fly in via express. Chances are, if you can get the items here that easily millions of other people are doing it and your margins will be VERY tight.

I suggest sourcing your items yourself. Go to your downtown wholesale district and buy goods in bulk. I find that ordering from China and dropshipping only leads to a shaky ebay account.

Shamballa bracelets, North face denali Fleece, Juicy Couture tracksuits, Affliction t-shirts, are doing quite well.

    I also supply them.

You can't sell fake stuff on ebay, you risk getting your account closed.
