I received a letter yesterday from the company that I purchased replicas of their products. They are suing me for 700k and seeking criminal charges, I possibly could be looking at 6months to 5 years in the federal pen my lawyer said today. Take this as a warning to all replica sellers, stop now before it's too late! Item's were seized is how they found me.

tried telling you to stop after the first two letters. my advice from my stint in 05 is to get a whole bunch of address written down before you go in so you can write to people, read, and work out (make sure to do legs too).

Get a lawyer, settle for 1% of what they are fining you for (700k seems a little high, i'm curious how they came up with that number) and tell them it won't happen again - and don't let it.

Before you contact them, Contact a copyright lawyer and ask them what the process is.

You must contact a lawyer immediately, don't put it off. If you do, they will definately press charges and you'll get in more shit.. if you don't and have the lawyer contact them the negotiation process will begin. Trust me, they don't want to spend the time and money to pursue formal charges, they just want to scare you and to get some money for your wrong doing.

Lawyer up. Pronto. And don't say a word until you have your lawyer there. End of story.

Yes. Contact an attorney,one with a free consultation and be 100% completely honest with him.
Second, in my 9-5 I deal with alot of different attorneys both for and against.One thing I can say without hesitation is both sides will try and "scare" you into action. Thats how they make $310/hr.

Custom caught me once.. Had to pay 700$ ..

So no more reselling replicas for me neither, this was 3 years ago

Selling Replicas is common business in Pakistan, Indian and china. Also in most of the countries here. If someone say here something like that then the first thing which people will do is laugh out loud.
But your situation is a bit serious, I do not have suggestion for you as I donot know what kind of laws your country have.

yeah def get a lawyer . kinda funny freaking wall street and the banks over price houses did dirty rotten s h t but non of they get brought up on charges !
my neighbor answered his door a few months back to find out he was getting sued for 35 mil for downloading porn ! my ex got a class 2 felony for indirectly calling a broad a b it c h .. this country is so screwed up!

Replica selling is very risky both legally and financially. Even if you DO drop ship, read step 1. they seized the items which means the customer never got it. Which means you paid money for an item that was never sent. Or more importantly a CUSTOMER paid money.

How long before a customer starts posting your biz info everywhere if they dont get the items? Hell, even if it DOES come late they may STILL post your info, nothing like a pissed off customer to put you on blast.

My advice? Dont do it, get a biz license and get legit stuff from the factory. Because you are an independent you can STILL offer a good deal due to low overhead. Be smart.

Man some of you guys are brutal. Things happen. Any time you cross legal boundaries in order to make more money, you will eventually run into consequences. It's always good to have an exit strategy and never get too comfortable. If you've been doing 20k+ profits a month for a while now, I'd have left the country yesterday.

It's upsetting how many of you are taking this for a joke when this man has come to warn others and help them not get in the predicament he is in. Obviously he knows he f#cked up and does not to be told that 50 times. Some of it was humor in good taste, but the joke part should be over by now.
