I have a dropshipper in Bulgaria that sends out mainly to USA by reg mail..

there are massive delays that started 13th Dec until now.

At this time we are seeing shipments getting delivered that were posted 17th-21st Dec. I have a hundred emails from pissed off customers every day and lots of chargebacks will be rolling in soon.

In the past we were shipping from asia but we never had 5 week delays and they dont seem to be catching up with the Jan shipments as none get delivered. Asia shipments are fine, so wtf USPS, do you hate bulgaria?? Now we had to stop all sales as it does not make sense with this situation.

Thanks usps for killing it, and thanks USA to all you senators that are willing to send hundreds of millions to pakistan for war briberies but cannot fix their own postal system to overcome EU mail backlogs from new year chaos. Guess everybody has some priorities...

Did you sell it on ebay? A dispute can't go in their favor if you provide a tracking number

No ebay, just selling through website and getting visa payments

How do you know it's USPS? If it's an overseas carrier, not much they can do about it. Or - customs holdup somewhere?

We been shipping this for quite some time earlier and its always usps that handles the regmail from europe, and their tracking confirms this. No idea where the shipments are, one theory is that they used ships to bring the mail to USA instead of Air - just for december to ease the chaos, but thats all speculation. These mails dropped in some warehouse and screw them, there are hundreds of shipments and the complaints killing me.. anyway /rant out

I happen to know a LOT about the USPS. They have been a customer of mine for many years.

It owns no ships.

It owns no aircraft.

It also is NOT responsible for mail outside the borders of the US, with the exception of military (APO) addresses. Even then actual delivery is left up to the armed forces in theatre.

It does not take possession of foreign mail coming into the US until it clears customs. In some instances customs may be combined with the US Postal Inspection Service.

It is highly likely that the shipper in Bulgaria used some sort of cut-rate/cheap service to get the mail the US. Once it hits the US it goes through customs and is then given to the USPS to deliver domestically. They will do this in 3-5 days in almost every case imaginable, even during the holidays.

Do they make mistakes? Sure. But not that many. Very few on a % basis.

Also, the USPS does not receive tax payer dollars - so there is nothing your congress person can do about this. Unless, of course, Congress actually gets off their ass and allows the USPS to stop pre-paying pensions at 100%, which is unlike every other government agency. This alone would save the USPS about $5 billion per year.

I am shipping for over 6 years to USA from various countries europe and asia, so i know quite a bit of the history of shipments.

If they have been your 'customer', then how do you explain that items show 'put in container' on before xmas and then nothing for 4 weeks and finally maybe a delivery, and all this happens from before xmas until even now? But all the months before no issues? Customs is usually a rare issue, so it cant be all the hundreds of shipments delay cause. They got inundated by mail no doubt thats it and relocated standard airmail and priority airmail in some warehouses to find the time.

The DO NOT deliver mail in 3-5 days once it hits the US, you have no idea dude. 6 Years of watching shipment history - i should know by now. Yes, if you use EMS courier for example, then usps express takes these over and they really do a fast job on this but its 35$ extra shipping for customers and some dropshippers dont use express anyway because of the additional paperwork.

I know they dont have ships or airplanes. But if you post any shipment in overseas by registered airmail mail to USA, then usps will be definitely the service that takes these shipments over at some point (you surely know exactly where that point is, since they were a longtime customer of yours).

USPS can borrow up to $3 billion from the Treasury annually but expects to reach its statutory $15 billion borrowing limit in fiscal year 2011.

That $15 Billion didn't come from Donald Trump.
