"We purchase software from various venues. Such places include: overstock, auctions, closeouts, companies going out of business."

I'm pretty involved in the tech startup world. I know a lot of foolish startups that are run by suits instead of programmers; these businessmen love buying expensive software for their new company and can certainly afford to do so with the vast venture capital they raise. But when the startup inevitably crashes, they usually have extra keys left over, ready for liquidation.

Even if startups aren't the place this guy gets his goods from, I'd definitely look into it if I were in the business. That said, there really aren't that many tech startups outside of San Francisco or Boston so you might be out of luck.

It is probably pirated. I bought Office XP from a site like this when it was still new and it came on an unlabeled CD in a white envelope. It worked great though.
