Default Beware of Paypal and Flippa

I recently sold a site on Flippa for $4500 to the highest bidder. Buyer wanted to use Paypal so I allowed it. Two months later, he tried to chargeback the sale. He used a credit card via Paypal. It's been 30 days and I still don't know if I'm out $4500. Use the escrow site option always!

You can take action by submitting proof of evidence to Paypal, but i guess this will really takes sometime like 25 - 30 days.

I hope your issues will get resolved soon, sometimes bad things will happens for good ones, but you don't be worry for it. There will always be "Good things happen to Good people".

If you need further help, just PM me with your questions of "how to handle charge-back, how to submit proof of evidence, etc, etc.."

    Thanks,
    Bart

if he charging back with CC company directly you are out of luck bcoz cc companies gives paypal more commission on settlement then your personal transaction commission but i think the funds already in your bank right ? if so just leave the paypal account let paypal pay it from there own pockets

Ridiculous. It's a damn shame you have people out there like that. The fact that it's Paypal, you have to submit proof after proof to have a fighting chance. Sellers never have any protection against a chargeback. I hope, that it wasn't charged on a stolen/fraud ID card. I hope and wish you the best.

Is it true ? Paypal doesn't support if seller having strong evidence ?? Also I have doubt, if OP left the Paypal account with negative balance then do you think Paypal won't take any action for $4500 ??

'm sure it will take upto 90 days and there is little chance that OP can win.

as i can know this transaction was not with "seller protection"

Yes its very true no matter how hard evidence you produce if he charging back directly from CC company the settlement goes to buyer favor instead of seller bcoz of commission , i m saying as per my exp bro as one time i got screwed same way buy a bs customer i given paypal skype chat's , email convs screen shots , my terms and condition too that clearly defines no refund on software bcoz customer already took demo and make sure they works, on top of everything it was virtual good / a software first paypal closed the dispute in favor of me , after a week again its reopened reason bcoz buyer directly charged back via his cc company i talked over phone with paypal like 2-3 times they told me yes they put strong case from my side as they have every evidence they need end result i lost money is refunded to buyer lesson learned from that day i dont take paypal from new customer or unless they have very good members to vouch search google you find several stories like this

If you do leave your account like some are saying, make sure you cancel any Credit Cards on file and close any bank accounts associated to it. They could try to take the money directly from them. It happened to me once. They charged my CC so i chargedback on them. Once I got my money back, they went into my bank account and a filed a report against them through my bank and they were able to get my money back.

As OP stated in this thread seems to be true in my case as well "Beware of Paypal"

How paypal could be considered a solid business tool if it's doing things like this?!
I hope you will sort it out!
    Good luck,

    D.

    PS.
One thing comes to my mind: maybe you are able to contact this person CC operator/bank and show them the proofs directly?

Contact the buyer of the website and say you're so sorry to hear he's unhappy with the website and would like to give him a full refund after he pushes the domain back to you. The best you can hope for at this point is to get the website back. That money is long gone and you have a snowball's chance in hell of winning that dispute. Work your ass off trying to get the site back so you can take another shot at selling it.

Also NEVER push a domain to a PayPal buyer until 90 days have passed since payment was made. You give them the site, change the whois but you hang on to that domain for insurance. I just had a client give a $500 refund to a buyer that demanded the domain push and when told he had to wait 90 days the buyer filed a Flippa dispute. He refunded the jackass buyer, relisted it and sold it a second time to someone with very good credentials so the push was no problem. I bet the buyer in this case had little or no reputation on Flippa. Put in your listing you reserve the right to hold the domain 90 days if the buyer is new and has no history. If they get pissed give them a refund and find another.

Good luck and sorry to hear this shit happened but nothing new on Flippa. Just as there are scamming sellers there are scamming buyers.

I've had the same happen to me through PayPal, the customer requested a charge back and I even had to pay the fees for them to do this!!! Plus, they got to keep the product. Wrong.

PayPals well known to do this... I feel sorry for you; I had a similar thing happen to me last year - I'm still disputing it with PayPal to this day and have had to now bring lawyers in just to get them to listen and read our correspondence... long process but I hope it all works out for you!
