In my opinion it will go up, as there will be harder and harder to get those domains, so the price should go up.
Definitely more valuable IMO. Domains are so cheap to buy and hold everyone is a speculator.

I personally had a large portfolio of domain names back in 2002-2005 and I just cannot buy into speculation anymore. Its just not what it was when the economy was better....and I personally think that the advent of mobile application development is going to kill future resale prices at a point soon....thats just my opinion however.
I would not say I was a huge speculator but I had many sales in the upper XX,XXX range and there is no way I would buy domains for speculation at this point at all. Anyway just my thought....no matter what the extension.
Less valuable for .coms, look at gds promotion of $0.99 .coms, they are going down.
So .com's will die in the long run?
will we even have tlds eventually? would that even be possible? or will google just start to remove the tld from domain names, since its searching will eventually be so good?
.com value will probably either stay the same or go up. there are already vanity TLDs that have been out for a long time such as .tv, .info, .jobs, .travel etc and they didnt do anything to value of .com
Interesting topic... I say it will go out but not much... just like IT jobs.. avg $ per hour is only $2 up for past decade...yet technology evolved like crazy...
