Looking for some advice from the experts here.

I'm interested in a domain which is currently for sale, and the owner has parked. What troubles me is that the domain doesn't appear in Google when I search for site:domain.com.

The domain is currently parked, but I thought parked domains would still appear - could the domain have been deindexed, or do parked domains "drop off" Google's search results after a while?

The domain has been registered since 2004 but doesn't appear to have ever had a functioning website judging by archive.org, always either a sales page for the owner's domains, parked, or just a 'coming soon' message, which I suppose could be why it doesn't appear.

Any thoughts?

For as far I am concerned, parked domains are not indexed by google.

Which leads me to the question..

If there's a parked domain that isn't indexed in google or has no links..

1. Would you buy it?

2. Would google look at the domain age and and if it's of reasonable age would it then bypass the sandbox stage, or is it all about the age of inbound links / date from which google indexes it?

1. No.

2. Google's TrustRank does not count the age of a domain if its parked. So, lets say xyz.com was a fully functional website (with regular updates and unique content) for a year and then another year it was just parked, then it would consider the age of the domain to be just 1 year. Google's TrustRank also looks at the quality of the backlinks and not the age, so if all the backlinks are spam and not unique then they won't increase your TrustRank.
