How To Send a Delayed Auto-reply Email? Best Approach?
Hi Guys,
I'm hoping if i could get some advice how to set up a auto-reply responder with a delayed response.
Is this doable using a online email service like gMail with a work around of some sort?
gMail only offers direct a direct autoresponder feature.
I've been testing the waters on something and it's been doing well, it just takes up to much of my time that i need to spend on other projects, nevertheless if i can bring in some automation into the game it's not only going to be more profitable for me but much easier to cope with as well.
Basically if someone emails me, i want to have a autoresponder set up with a delayed response, say like 10 minutes after the email has landed in my inbox?
Thanks!

Not possible without 3rd party software or scripts. Nothing fully automated that I know of, if you find something please share it here

That is something I have also been searching for for quite awhile. If I run across one, I'll let you know.
Also, if I could find something that could scan an email for a first name to automatically insert in a reply, I would be interested.

I haven't had a chance to check it out, yet, but this was brought to my attention and might be worth a look-see:

I did it with Outlook, but you have to have Outlook running on your computer. I created an email with GoDaddy, pointed my Outlook to the POP server on GD, set up a rule on Outlook (where to = cl.org), wait 30 minutes, send auto-response.

I inquired them about this and they were clear to tell me no they do not do this.
So unless you have Interspire and have this setup as mentioned, I was told otherwise...I'm not saying you can't be right though?

I agree with desk on this one. Outlook rocks for clposting. Helps a ton.

Re: How To Send a Delayed Auto-reply Email? Best Approach?
Couldn't this be done with a macro using Dejaclick or iOpus?
You could set it to record opening your email, scraping the address, then composing a new email (cut/paste/reply), send, then delete the original message then starting over. Should be possible, right?

Upon further inspection , I see they do not allow you to auto respond to messages sent to the system.. You can schedule an autoresponder to send after they have been subscribed to your list.. You could hack together a php script that would hit the pop3 box , then insert them into the sendstudio list with the auto responder setup..
Ah well, after looking around I found something someone already wrote in php..
It logs into the POP3 account, downloads the messages then responds with a message you choose.

Re: How To Send a Delayed Auto-reply Email? Best Approach?
Guys, i would like to have your input on this as i can't really tell if this could do the trick.
hxxp://www.helexis.com/mail_redirect/
From what i make of it, you could download your emails from your gmail inbox redirect it to a regular hosted email solution on your own server (cron job) to have it auto reply to the initial sender in the email headers right?
I could be totally wrong on this because i'm not that technical with this sort of stuff.
But what possibilities would you see in this solution?
Thanks!

You can use Thunderbird. You can adjust settings to check for mail every XX minutes and then it replies to those emails with the template you have saved.
