You can also use a reconnector for your router, instead of buying this new card for 60$.

Just search in Google your router name + reconnector

If theres no one for your router, you can easily make yourself one with batch.

Personally I have been able to 6-8 postings every other day and rotate 6 accounts.

I've found 4 proxies that work well for me. (searched a while though)

Earlier in this thread OP posted how he could get phone verified accounts...

So, pretty please tell us how you do this? This would be very valuable.

Ok, you guys are going to love me for this....
Dynamic IP (DHCP) Means your IP Address CAN change. This doe snot mean that it will. Most ISP's will give you the same IP over and over. If you shut off your modem for a few days then you will ONLY get a new IP if another person near you plugs in a BRAND NEW modem. When this happens that person MIGHT get the IP that you were using or they might get a different one. The ISP will reserve your IP (Its called a dhcp lease).

Lets say you have an IP with a 7 day lease and you shut off your modem. You may have to wait 7 days straight, with no internet to get a new IP.

It is all done by the MAC address of your router/Modem/ or computer...

Here is the best thing you can do. Go out and buy a Linksys WRT54G router or one that has MAC address cloning capabilities. Hook your new router to your modem and your pc to the router and get yourself connected to the internet. Now... go to the routers config page by typing 192.168.1.1 into the browsers address bar. Most routers user/pass is admin admin. Once in you can snoop around all the menus and you will find clone mac address. Type in some new numbers and letters. Valid letters are ONLY ABCDE and F. You might also want to keep the first 2 digits as 00. Then save and restart the router. The ISP will see it as a new piece of equipment and they will issue a new external IP. They give you a new IP because they think the other mac address that you previously had is using your old one. But nooooo you tricked the ISP into thinking that you have a new piece of equipment. Go to whatismyip.com before and after to make sure your external IP has changed.

This is a huge topic to teach to you guys and takes a networking degree to get into it but trust me... that's the best way to get a new IP... cloning your routers MAC address. If you want more info... google that... Clone your routers mac address.

I change my mac a few times a day and when I create accounts, I change it after verifying 2 accounts.

For you spammers that post 1000 a day well I don't know what to tell you other than write a vb.net program that logs into the routers config page using sockets, scrapes the routers config page, creates a random mac and restarts it. Then it will have to make sure the IP changed, and then it will have to start posting again. Just an idea to try if you know C# or vb or Java or any like language.

Interesting share. I always thought you couldn't change it with a cable modem, but I guess it does take a networking degree to know that kind of stuff.

I have to say, there are really no best programs or ip changing method. Different people like different autoposters, but remember, they won't make your ads show up. They simply just make things easier. As far as changing your ip, you can either get a sprint card or find a good proxy service that supplies you with fresh ip's daily. I personally don't use accounts unless it's in the phone verified sections, and then you can only post 3 ads every 48 hours.

Default Re: Craigslist - A step-by-step guide to get your ads to stick

So here is another Idea I have not tried yet......

Currently I have a website that is making me about 3 grand a month from Craigslist. I "Borrow" content from craigslist by indexing everything like good does web pages.

So, I found that CL blocks me after I hit it realy hard for a while so I bought a server with 10 IP's and I rotate between IP's and they don't seem to care. Well someday they are going to shut off all 10 IP's I can just feel it. This led me to something called Tor and privoxy (Google it)

The concept of this prox is a whole network of people bouncing off each others computers. Example...
You go to craigslist but first you send the message to Marry. Marry sends the same message from Johny but does not tell Johny that it came from you. Johny snds it to mikey, mikey to Meredith, Meredith to Mickey Mouse. Each not telling the next party where they got the message from. Finally Mickey Mouse hits craigslist and returns the results to Meredith, Meredith to Mikey.... all the way back to you. Now the beauty of it is in the example above.... Mary has no idea that you are the original sender so it is very anonymous. This is called the onion network and with Privoxy and Tor you can accomplish this setup and it is relatively fast. I tried it once before when I was attacking Wikipedia (Long story about an article with my name in it) and finaly Wikipedia locked the article so I know it works. However, I am not sure how https and captcha will react to it.

My posts are fine because I do mine manually. I buy some phone verified accounts, and each post is completely different and based off another persons post, however I insert a small image that looks like text with a url on it. example:
Peter is selling a couch and he puts on there: Call me at 555-555-5511
Well I remake the posting with his pictures and all. I even put his phone number on there. Then in the text I embed an image that is on one of my domains. That image is white with black text. People never flag it as spam because they can actually call the guy selling the couch and it does not look like an add. Second, CL can never find my postings I embed my text in an image. I wrap up by slightly changing his text... I'm selling becomes I am Selling!!! And Hello everyone become Hello people... With all that I change my mac as I stated above...

If you are connected directly to your modem....
http://tmac.technitium.com/tmac/index.html
That will help you change the mac of your network card on your PC. To look at your IP adddress on your computer go to start run and type cmd. When the black window comes open type ipconfig Where it says IP address... that's yours

Now...
169.whatever is invalid (You have no internet for sure)
192.whatever is an internal address (You are behind a router or firewall)
10. whatever is an internal address (You are behind a router or firewall)
127. whatever is an internal address (You are behind a router or firewall)

Exeption, there are a few 127 addresses that are extrernal.

If you have an IP address that is different from the above, you have an external address, use tmac to change it.

Ok, got ot go, I have a site down I need to get back up. Hope this helps and if anyone wants to try tor and privoxy here are some easy looking directions for windows and mac. If your on Linux you can find it easy with Google

Brent, thanks for the two quality posts. The problem with TOR is the same as the problem with public proxies. They've got so many users who are spamming Craigs and other sites you have to switch the IP many times to find one IP on there that will work. I used TOR Proxies for sites less popular than craigslist with a 2/5 success rate. Also most people who volunteer their connection for the TOR network aren't located in the United States which would complicate your craigslist endeavors further.

Wow! Great post by the OP. I have already learned alot from my failures and mistakes on CL. Once I get a good system down I might invest in an auto-poster. How does EasyAd Deluxe compare to adsoncraig?

Also, a tip for some new CL'ers. If you can't get any of your ads to stick its most likely due to the URL you are using. Everytime I tried using a URL that just redirected to a CPA offer the ad was ghosted. I just posted a couple of ads right now using an email instead. Basically its the same ad copy as before, but now at the end of the ad I say "If you are interested send an email to youremailhere for more informaition". Now reply back to those emails with your URL. Of the people who email you, you will have a great conversion rate. Try it out if nothing else works for you!
