I found the ebook "Cashing in on Craigslist" the other day and was reading through it. It's basically telling you to go through the want ads on craigslist, find the items on ebay and email the people an affiliate link to the ebay page where you found their items they are looking for. Does this still work or did it ever? I would assume that the majority of people on craigslist already know about ebay and don't want to go that route. If I am wrong, please correct me. I just want to know if people are still making money at this. Thanks.

I've looked at that and when you figure out the math you're working for pennies compared to the time you have to put into it. Where you can make out is if the Craigs*list buyers do not have an e*Bay account and you can get the affiliate commision of them joining e*Bay if they bid on something. The actual commision you get on the auction purchase is peanuts in most cases.

I did this 3 days in a row. Keeping all my suggestions in the $100-$300 dollar range. Electronics.. vehicles.. targeted to area and price range. I must have sent 75-100 suggestions in 3 days... My total take... $8.75

As far as I am concerned.. this is the method I pass on to the annoying guys at the gym who ask me what I do for a living.

I make about $50 a day on CL with about an hour of work.

Made $600 last month doing CL with eB***ay sites, about 1/2 hour a day.

Are you using the "Cashing in" method, "Cra*igs-A*gent", or other?

I submit CL ads, but I do it by hand.

I purchased C - A when it first came out and used it successfully. I have since run into problems with it.

Part of the program/system is run on their computers. The system has two methods of cloaking your Ebay Partner Network (EPN) id number. One method uses a Gmail account and the other uses your own hosted email account.

I have only used Gmail accounts sometimes 30 or 40 different accounts during a session sending out 80-120 emails a day. You need multiple accounts so that CL or Gmail do not ban your account.

In July, Gmail (reported on CNET) changed their policies, procedures, whatever in that the Gmail accounts cloaked through this program immediately became suspect and Gmail either suspended the accounts or delayed the delivery of the email for a large percentage of the emails sent out. This greatly reduced delivery rates and increased the amount of work to keep a gmail account active. This even happened to my virgin email account.

It took several weeks for me to figure out what was happening and during this time Gmail tightened the screws more. I have since suspended use. I have not gotten around to setting up hosted email account.

You will have to register. The owners (?) of C - A have not been very active on the forum lately and the forum has is almost dead.

From my experience, I found this method to be outdated. But hey, if you get it to work, more power to you.

I got tired of it after a while. Facebook is another one that has wanted ads that you can try it on too. Lots of books.

Making money with the cashing in on craigslist method only worked out well for 1 person: Steve Mount (the creator of the ebook) - and that was by selling the method, not actually applying it.

yep, I wasted the best part of a week trying this - got just peanuts out of it.
