    Exclamation Affilaite marketing soon doomed??

    Newest releases of web browsers make NOT accepting cookies the default, or make it much easier for people to turn it off. Many Internet purchasers don't know they are accepting cookies and if they now start seeing the 'Do Not Track' option, we could be screwed - I think.

    The simplest solution to this is properly incentivizing customers to buy through your link, which you absolutely should be doing on higher ticket purchases. So you're basically going to have an added bonus that can only be claimed if they follow along and make it possible for you to manually track your sales.

    As in: Click the link below, make your purchase, then send a copy of your receipt to abc@xyz.com in order to get your free box of jelly doughnuts, the perfect companion to "Eat Whatever You Want And Lose 100 Pounds Overnight"

    won't do shit....

    The average person doesn't know what a web browser cookie is.

    Cookies will not be going away. Too many important websites require them.

    Absolutely agree, you are seeing this all the time now with the big "Guru" launches. Everyone promoting the offer/product has the best bonus for buying through them.

    It also makes it more important to optimise for real buying keywords, like product names, reviews and pricing; when there is a good chance the visitor will buy on that session.
