I know Google won't allow me to use a CJ link as the destination URL and the advertiser link as the display. I've seen affiliates direct linking to advertiser sites and am trying to figure out how they do it. Is this cloaking, using frames, etc?

I use a meta refresh from one of my sub-domains or sub-pages.

Have you tried to change your individual kw destination url? That usually works for me.

You can also use a TinyURL type redirect service.. plus after you have set up the campaign you can then edit each KW individually and actually direct link to the CJ / AFF landing page.. this is a hole in the Adwords system at the moment

So, if I edit each KW individually and set the display as the advertiser name (www.advertiser.com), and then my destination URL as the actual CJ URL (www.dpbolvw.net/click-294...) this will work? Doesn't Google consider this a re-direct? If I use a metarefresh or TinyURL-type redirect, does CJ still track the pixel?

No, you have to set both, your display and destination URL as advertiser.com and then change your keyword destination to whatever you want it to be.

If you guys have never checked out adwords editor try it because you can mass upload ad groups(one keyword per ad group) which will have the direct destination url and append the keyword on the end of the affiliate link to track.

like http://affiliatelink.com&subid={keyword}

Getting killed on quality score and the ads aren't showing. Guess I could increase bids, but not sure if that will really help

Try getting a new domain and start a new campaign. If you are starting out, try the content network before search. CTR and QS are not as critical on the content network.

If you really want to use search, then as a minimum have about us,privacy policy,disclaimer, contact us pages. In addition, add at least six relevant articles. I have found that this will get at least an "ok" QS.

Try that and see what happens, then tweak. Hope I helped.

that's why you need to set your 'keyword destination url' as your affiliate url.

It often depends on the niche as well. If too many advertisers in the niche, they are tougher on this stuff QS wise.

Most advertisers will list their PPC policy in their "keyword link" section.

Go to Get Links : Keyword Link » Link Detail and see what they list for their usage recommendation, protected keywords, recommended keywords, and non-compete keywords.

Also read through the advertiser's program description and special terms. Some advertisers don't want you to use their domain in the display URL.
