CJ will charge you if your account is Inactive
Recently I came to know about this policy
After researching finally I came to know that
if your account is idle for 6 months
that is
no sale or lead in past 6 month then
they will start charging you 10$ every month until your balance reaches 0$
however your balance won't go negative, and if your balance is already 0$ and inactive then also you won't be charged
I already lost 30$ in last 3 months and I didn't notice and I will be charged again on 1st oct if I don't make any sale

Re: CJ will charge you if your account is Inactive
Well thats strange, I wonder why they're doing that. I knew of something like if the account have been inactive for 6 months they used to disable it with an option to reactivate it and if later if its again 6months of inactivity they'll remove it forever. I'm not sure about it but i just got to know that more than year ago when I just joined CJ and din't use it for long.

I find that hard to believe... That's a bit illegal. How long were you idle?

That's not illegal and it's been their policy for a while.

6 months idle
no sales no leads
after that 10$ every month gets deducted
$30 already deducted from my account
so overall 9 months

Re: CJ will charge you if your account is Inactive
Wow, they start applying the same rule as ClickBank? What I do know they remove your account if you idle for 6 months. By idle, do you mean no sales, or no activities? What if for that 6 months period, I don't generate any sales, but there are a lot of clicks and impressions, am I free from deduction?

I mean sales or leads
no clicks or impressions or else I would have done that myself
you are free from deduction if you don't have any balance
but if you have some balance then they will keep charging you until your balance is $0 or you get some lead or sale
am not aware about clickbank terms
could you please tell me about their inactivity terms ?

Re: CJ will charge you if your account is Inactive
They do this so they don't have to write a huge amount of liabilities on their balance sheet. It's not that they are trying to screw you, but it does help them out.
This is why with gift cards if there is like 2 years of inactivity, they charge like a 5% "maintenance" fee. Gift cards and such are put in the "unearned revenues" collumn which is actually a liability account. They slowly break down an account so they don't have all these *possible,* someday liabilities.
Hope you guys understand this.

This is Clickbanks Rule. I still need 1 more sale to avoid this dormant account status
Dormant Accounts
Accounts with a positive balance but no earnings for an extended period of time are considered dormant. Dormant accounts are subject to a charge of $1 per pay period after 90 days of no earnings, $5 per pay period after 180 days of no earnings, and $50 per pay period after 365 days of no earnings.

Can't be that bad. From what I know, CJ's minimum payout is $50. The most we've got to lose is $50. If we have less than $50 in the account and haven't done anything for 6 months, I doubt most of us would care too much. Just my perspective, though.

There are many marketers from outside the U.S.
Depositing a foreign check of $50 usually end up in debt with all the international fees.
Anything less than $500 isn''t worth the deposit. I get charged $65 per check excluding the conversion rate + It takes up to 5 weeks to see the money actually coming in.
That's why not paying affiliates VIA online banking solutions like paypal is primitive. Very common in the networks that don't give a shit on their affiliates.. (CJ, Clickbank.. etc.).
Maxbounty is a true treasure.. I recommend it to everyone.

This i crazy, I pay like 5$ for US cheque to clear. If you did not do so then check with other banks from your country, usually different banks in the same country charge different. It may be that one is charging 65$, another 25$ and another 15$, and another some fixed percentage.
So in case you already did that, check all the banks in your country, you might get a pleasant surprise.
