Got my account banned the other day and all money stolen and they sent this email:

Commission Junction has discovered that you are inflating traffic (forcing clicks) to one or more of your affiliated advertisers in violation of the Commission Junction Publisher Service Agreement you agreed to follow. Clicks and Transactions are only considered valid when generated by an affirmative-action by a valid End-User/Visitor.

As a result, your Commission Junction account has been terminated from the Commission Junction Network, transactions may be reversed ("charged-back"),
and any attempt to rejoin the Commission Junction Network shall be null and void.

My site is just a simple 1 page antivirus download site that people find through search engines when they want to download an antivirus software. I placed a iframe on the page so that i can get commission from them if they choose to pay for the trial they downloaded after 30 days (tracking cookie expires in 60 days).

I look at their publisher agreement and it says ZERO about "affirmative-action" or anything related, and has nothing about "inflating clicks". They seem to be incompetent because affirmative-action is not a legal term and actually deals with the rights of minorities.

I emailed them back asking them where in their PSA it said that this is not allowed and they just replied with this

Please be advised the only time a cookie is allowed to be placed on an end user's computer is when they knowingly click on a link that will redirect them to an advertiser's site. *my seoed url* is not the advertiser's site so redirection here should not include an affiliate cookie being placed on their computer.

Obviously dodging the question but this is bs, i did nothing wrong. I can understand if i was cookie stuffing other peoples forums or something but this is a website that is for a free trial download of the product.

I guess if someone is a large network or any business in general they can just ban + steal your money for whatever reason and just pretend that you violated the invisible words on their website.

They are the #1 affiliate network in the world.

They are not a scam, even if them banning you was unfounded.

Create a new account and be stealthier.. also, they should still pay commissions owed.

By having the iframed offer open automatically on your 'authority' site, it automatically dropped a cookie without the user voluntarily clicking on a link leading to the sales page. Thats essentially what they're trying to convey.

I've noticed SOME cookies are dropped through a frame, and others are not - but they probably viewed this practice as something you may continue to do in the future.

I cross my T's and dot all of my i's with CJ. Like the previous poster said, they're the biggest mother suckers in the game. When the day comes that all these sub par mom & pop affiliate networks take a shit, and CJ has monopolized the industry, I'd like to remain in good standing.

I wouldn't argue your point, I'd get on my knees and suck some chode for forgiveness - get your account flying again and clear shit like that with you AM before pursuing. At least when it comes to CJ.

Funny how every time someone gets kicked for violating a network's tos they start a crappy thread screaming "scam!"

It's easy to get another account with them i've had 3 ;) but they WILL pay you your commissions - if the advertiser hasn't charged them back (only the pending ones) you will recieve your balance

just get a proxy new email new bank account

simples :)

yeah i will probably make a new account with my friends name or something. I honestly dont see why people are defending cj because they have most users, do you like obama only because he had most votes?

also dont see why some people itt think i was cookie stuffing. people search google to download antivirus -> they click on my link -> i get commission when they buy.

this is different from CS which goes:
person browses forum or generic website -> views a post with 100 iframes in it -> gets CSed

If they wanted you to do what you were doing they would supply pre made iframed
offers. Maybe this'll teach you to cover your arse when you walk through a gay bar.

I wouldn't call them a scam but tight asses definitely. I have had my fair share of commissions stolen from those bastards. The good part about CJ is that they are much easier to get an acct with then say hydra or some of the others. But when you strap a welcome mat to your ass, prepare to be fucked my friend. :D

Jesus mother effing christ sweetheart, dont you get it?

People dont like obama because he won the majority vote - We like Obama because he's black.

Point 2: Your users are not VOLUNTARILY clicking on a link that is sending them to your offer. It is loading AUTOMATICALLY and dropping a cookie against their WILL. Yes. That is COOKIE STUFFING.

Dude, It's Like Rape.

You are like a Rapist.

You are an Affiliate Rapist, please stop making claims to the contrary you virtual sex offender.

wow did he just say what cj is a scam. hahah thats funny - its a very big network that has pay many people to show its not a scam. they mite of banned u for a reason. it does not mean there a scam

CJ is dirty and has been for years now. You may be doing well with them but just image how much better you could be doing if they got rid of the BHO and eBates scams that pass for merchants on their system.

A couple of years ago this made the news:

HTML:
http://goyami.corante.com/archives/2006/01/31/are_affiliate_network_employees_stealing_your_business.php

The managers that walked away from CJ turned into Super Affiliates and they did it with your marketing information.

reqd

You may want to rethink that with GAN (Google Affiliate Network) in the picture now, CJ is going to have to rethink their tactics and how they treat their affiliates to stay ahead of GAN.

This is not to say you can't work with them and make money but you have to be realistic about how they play the game, it's like a casino, the odds are in their favor.

It's so funny to see when someone gets caught gaming the system and gets banned that they cry scam.

If you wanna game the system of any network, go ahead. But you better make sure you know how to do it right. If you don't, then you get banned.

Plain and simple.

CJ is not a scam. They one of the best affiliate networks to work with. They keep a very close eye on their affiliates, but they are not a scam.

hmmm why are like 1/3 of ppl saying im "gaming" cj lol. this is a whitehat site that makes maybe $2 day and i have lots of them with other networks doing exactly the same thing with zero issue, all other networks welcome it and say i am doing great work. i just think it is rude of cj to actively steal money from affiliates and they even charge fees just for having an account.

Look, whether you did it intentionally or NOT you were still committing the act. Perhaps the advertiser is more diligent in following up on publishers than those of your other network.

Just because you didnt know you were violating the terms doesnt mean that you werent at fault.

i.e. Just because she LOOKS 18 doesnt mean shes necessarily 18 fucking years old.

There are fucking thousands of men doing REAL time right now because they didnt KNOW they were breaking the law.

You should feel blessed that all you got was canned from an affiliate network.

i think you might be responding to the wrong thread because i wasnt sleeping with 18 year olds.
