As I've been reading up on this subject of cloaking, I assume that you wouldn't cloak a site right off the bat correct?

I mean wouldn't you wait to get indexed 1st then do your cloaking?
How about turning it off some days and then turning it back on other days? is that a feature?

Peace

The point of cloaking is to show the search engines one type of content and your visitors another type of content.

Your cloaked pages should be designed to get the best possible Search Engine Rank, you non-cloaked pages should be designed to make money. So cloaking from the get go makes sense. If you don't cloak from the get go, the SE's will detect significant changes in your content and may take a closer look.

Many people use cheap .info "throw away" domains because they know there's a risk that the SE's might spot that you are cloaking and delist you.

Don't confuse getting listed with cloaking. Getting listed is often just a matter of getting an incoming link from a site that's already in the SERPs.
