Default How to Hide Referrer URL?

Let's say I want to hide referrers to Domain.com

And, by saying I want to hide them, I want them to show up as having NO referring URL, not even a clean site URL. This would apply to search engine traffic, adwords, anything and everything.

Is this possible?

Thanks

I don't know if your trying to do it through your browser or with a script but

I found this extention in firefox I'm using because I don't want to send any referers from this site to any external sites so the things this site offers for free gets taken down because the vendor checks their referers. Its called No-Referrer at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1999 .At first I though you had to enter the URL of the site you didn't want to send a reffer from but if you do that it Just blocks any referers being sent to only that site, not from that site to an external. So I just set it to block 3rd Party requests only. That way only referrals are sent if it is coming from the site itself.

Use http://cloakedlink.com
It will redirect to the domain of your choice and hide any referrer information.

Mmh i did ask already per pm about the URL of the affiliate network, but i still dont get it how to hide this.

I dont talk about the referal URL which i cloak myself with meta redirection, I talk about the URL from the Network itself i.e. http://affiliatenetworkname/product or service xxx and this URL redirects to the actual product/service. The customer dont see any referal URL but he still see the offer comes from a certain affiliate network.

Default Re: How to Hide Referrer URL?

this is kinda weird for me when i view the http headers....

if i do hxxp://www.website.com/goto/index.php

in the 2nd block, i get HTTP/1.x200 OK and shows no referral information.

if i do hxxp://www.website.com/goto

in the 2nd block i get HTTP:/1.x 301 Moved Permanently and shows where the click came from.

redirect code i'm using is:

header( 'refresh: 1; url=http://www.affcodegoeshere.com' );

any help would be appreciated.

Put this in the head <meta HTTP-EQUIV="REFRESH" content="0; url=yourlink">

Make sure you change your link to the url you want.

thanks,

what if i wanted to fix it with php? your fix is for like an index.html right. i have an index.php file that contains:

?
header( 'refresh: 1; url=http://www.affcodegoeshere.com' );
?

heh yea...

same issue tho...

if i don't put index.php in the URL, it gives me that 301 Moved Permanently and shows my website.

if i put index.php in the URL, it works fine...

well..tell you what...it doesnt show my URL in the line "referral" but actually in the line "location". does that make a difference or no?

using Live HTTP Headers plugin for FF if that helps....

How secure is entering your long affiliate link to a cloaking site?

Could a site set up to harvest cloaked links and hijack a %

just a thought
