Does anyone know about a good FREE alternative to copyscape? I have some articles that I want to check but I don't want to use the fee based copyscape website.

Thanks I just tried it and it looks good. how does this compare to copyscape? Copyscape gives you a score but I could not find a score for this site....any help?
minimal you can find any copied content from your article. Me personally never use any Copyspace.![]()

are you just spinning your articles and posting them w/o checking them?
Just use copyscape like this:
make a blogger account
post your content in posts up to 10
Put the url of the blog into copyscape
There you go, a free content check.

Tha dupli checker thing is just amazing.
Thanks for sharing.
Just checked a few articles I had just submitted to ezine, but not reviewed.
They had a few parts that were completely unchanged.
nice info , i can suggest join with triond dot c0m , they have powerful scanner
submit your article if they approved it delete it and submit to ezinearticle ,if they
found same content online they will give you the links .
I know that deleting blogs can be a pain, and if you are writing for a living, having a non indexed profile of articles can be handy to show prospective clients.
This is what I do. Set up your blogger blog to NOT index when you build it, and use a dynadns or other domain redirect when you use copyscape. Go easy on the short url services that are most popular, or you will waste your time. Got crap domains? Use them.
I do this for each large writing client I have. I had one stiff me, so I set it to index, and DCMAed HIS clients (LOL, by using copyscape again) (I was a subcontracted) with proof of creation time listed for every post. I use them for portfolios so as not to send to actual client sites, and like I found, can be a rather good way to at least keep your content if you do not get paid.
Lesson? If you do not pay me Adsense will, thanks for the free SEO research...

Plagium and PercentDupe?

Rep given. This is the sort of thing I need. Having been shafted by 4 clients this year, this is so much more of an easy way to cover your back. I've had to use some tough methods to get my money back this year and it really is a waste of my time. So much so, that I am contemplating jacking in writing for others and concentrate on my own stuff.

alternate would be
.... copyscape
there is a reason its so popular
just take a sentence from the article, put in quotes into google.
thanks for the info mate
laziestnoob... there are rules here against making useless post's to build up your post count. why dont you offer some real help instead of wasting our time.
For everyone else, here is another alternative to add to the other useful ideas here.
They offer a free service that isn't too bad and have low cost options for their highly accurate service, even a one day subscription. Their word plug-in is down right now.Code:http://www.plagiarismdetect.com
Another free service is:
Code:http://www.copygator.com/

is copyscape really the only one that works properly?
nice tips
Nice tips here...Happy to be part of this forum
It is now. But in case it stops again, here it is:
Better to sign up for a copyscape account, too much work for too little, I think.1. Create an Blogger account https://www.blogger.com/start
2. Click “Create your blog now” button and fill up the form. I suggest you use gmail account.
3. You need to check your email and click on the confirmation link to verify your account.
4. Then you create a blog. You can post random title and domain name if your purpose is just for checking articles on copyscape.
5. Post the article that you wanted to check on copyscape on your blog. You can name the title as “1″ “2″ “3″ and so on until you reach 9 post so it will not be hard for you to organize it.
6. Check them one by one on copyscape until you reach the limit of 9 search for one url.
7. After the limit is reached. Go to settings of your blogger dashboard and scroll down and click Delete Blog so all the content that you posted will not able to crawl by Search engines coz you just post it for checking duplicate words only.
8. After that create another blog with different random name. its up to you how you will name it and it doesnt matter at all.
9. Just complete these process and youre done. Its very easy.
I know alternative softwares (not online service):
- Advego Plagiatus
- Double Content Finder
but unfortunately, it has only Russian interface.
thk for this![]()

There is a thanks button sir lol
This is a pretty poor substitute, but if all of the phrases in your article score highly on this, it's likely that you'll trigger duplicate content problems. It basically checks to see how much the 4-word combinations in your article are used. Requires Python 2.7 to run (full source code included)
(File attached)
Enjoy
