Default How to find a niche? Getting started..

Hi people, i'm new in the seo world and at this point i'm just thinking about it and collect information...
I suppose it's better to make a site based on something that interest us because it's easier to make content... But actually everything I'm interested to have already tons and tons of site...
So I'm wondering how to find a niche (tools...?) and how to make proper content for the site? I know there's spinners and stuff like that but i guess if you're making shitty content people wouldn't come anymore right? But maybe it's possible to keep the site well ranked with shitty content so there's always click on it... But personnaly when i browse a site with shitty sentence (like mine should be, sorry for my english...) i leave...

    Thanks

Use the google keyword tool or micro niche finder.. to find a niche.. and always use unique good content on your site; use the crappy spunned articles to promote your sites (article sites)

If you are using Google keyword tool: Make sure you have exact ticked! (I learned the hard way when I first started)
If your having trouble coming up with a niche, try and pick something that interests you, it will be more fun to work on and the content will be easier to write.
When you are writing content, make sure you provide as much information as possible, and have the intention of helping your traffic all the time. (This is Googles focus)

    Some tools you may need:

    Google Keyword Tool: https://adwords.google.com/o/Targeti...AS#search.none

    Traffic Travis

    Market Samurai

Scroogle.org (This is for checking true rankings of your site without cookies etc.)

    Goodluck!

Thanks for the advices =). Now what about the concurrence? For example i've found a keyword which have 90k entries in my country and google tell me that the concurrence is low, is that enough to start? I know that 90k is pretty high but maybe the concurrence is tough... I don't know x)

    Definitely don't write bad content!
Google is always updating their algorithms for displaying the 'best' content in their SERPs!

I would suggest first building up some nice income streams, using the simple methods found in the forum.
You can get kick-ass,detailed,interested,well-researched articles for $5(500-600 words)
And trust me,it's not hard to find them either!Just have to be patient!

Something that you are interested in is great.

Something that large numbers of people are looking for would be much much better.

Something that you are interested in that large numbers of people are also searching for would be fantastic.

When starting out, spend a lot of time on your niche!!! I'll say that again, spend a lot of time checking out your niche. Make certain there are lots of global monthly searches with low competition.

If you adopt a 'build it and they will come' attitude you may be disappointed in the lack of results.

It is absolutely crucial that you do the required amount of research at the very beginning of a new project.

It makes no sense to spend months working your SEO magic on a dead end niche.

    Use all the tools.

You might also consider using Wordtracker.

I'm not allowed to post the url or pm until I've completed more posts.

You will need to sign up for an account. I don't suggest you try the paid option at this stage.

At the beginning I made the mistake of looking too much into my own interests, instead of focussing on stuff people are looking to buy. Don't make the same mistake mate! For example, I made a site about a game. I knew a lot about the game, so it was an easy task for me. But most of the visitors of the site had already bought the game. So there wasn't really much left to sell to them. Of course I tried game related stuff like headsets, mousepads an so on. But it's generally more difficult to sell people something they aren't really looking for. It's way better to target people who are already planning to buy a headset or something like that.

Don't target just one specific game when you could make a website about video games in general. If you're writing is good you could even submit guest posts to popular blogs like Kotaku or IGN to get more hits for your personal blog.

You have to think big and broad if you want to do blogging right, what's hot today (the game of the year) isn't going to be hot forever and if that happens you'll be stuck with a site that has almost no relevancy.

    As for the OP:

How you'll have to go about picking a niche will really depend on how you want to run your blog.

If you're looking to get into the auto-blogging business (get ready to start shelling out for a VPS to host your necessary 50+ blogs --if you want to make a living from it) you're going to need to find a niche that has keywords that command high per click/impression ad rates.

If you're looking to build an original blog that is build around you and/or other people you team up with ability to write you're better off attacking a time tested niches (sports, technology, politics, real estate, investing etc.) and start writing and start building up your credentials online as a writer.

i'd find something with less competition or something you have a good resource of, the more the competition the harder to make a profit with it for newcomers.

Just look around you and start making a list of different niches. If you are building a ton of sites just look at broader categories and start getting more and more specific.

For example if you think of Health as a broad category then you can get more and more specific. Health-->Medical Equipment--->Blood Pressure Devices or Electronics---TV's----LCD 3d TV's

From there you can start finding methods to promote those niches ie build a site then upload some videos on Blood Pressure Machines or 3d LCD's. Then assuming you have a website start finding places where you can get some quality backlinks to your sites. You can also start creating articles to add to your site about Medical Equipment etc.

Is it worth using one of those keyword web services or can we just use google keywords search?

Buy a keyword in your niche here at BHW or from Fiverr. That way I learned that I'm a newbie on keyword research. They found much better keywords than I could do in my niche, and im now doing a MNS and ranking it.About a year ago I started with a keyword ive researched myself. It had a low number of visitors, and should have been easy to rank for. But the keyword I got from Fiverr had less competition and have more visitors. It was well worth the $5.I might buy my next keywords as well, but will start to do my own research when I feel more confortable with the other steps in the SEO process.
