Re: What does Cloaking mean?
At least there is a consistency lately here.
1/Ask a question without doing any research
or
2/Ask a really retarded question.
see the "cloaking master wanted" post..jesus..
If you ask a question and people take the time to reply..have the manners to respond..just joking of course..
Lazy retards...

To hide real data from people so they see one thing and google sees another that's pretty much a laymens turn

What's a newbie, anyway?

Re: What does Cloaking mean?
Yes, a newbie will ask a question, and a member of this "GROUP" will "CONSISTENTLY" feel obligated to follow up with a negative comment, which in my opinion is neither helpful to the "Newbie" nor anyone other members of this forum.
"There is no such thing as a Stupid Question."
"Obviously, that doesn't always apply to responses"

Yes I agree with you.Any question from newbies are precious as they really don't know a thing and they come here and ask queries with lot of hopes that they will get answers...

If you read some of our responses and trawl through alot of the threads/posts you will find normal newbies who know what google search is having their question answered and often responding.
If someone is bone lazy then why do you or anyone else expect "us" to keep helping them.And often, when we have bothered..they just vanish..after awhile this gets to be a pain..
Feel free to help them though..!
And I did answer the newbies question..

Wow..2 posts and here for 5 minute and you have looked at hundreds of threads and found this..pure shite..and read what our responses are before making a fool of yourself.
which in my opinion is neither helpful to the "Newbie" nor anyone other members of this forum.
I answered the question for the newbie...you didnt..so if you hold so strongly to your opinion..why did you not do anything except whinge.
Lazy/ignorant newbies get what they deserve..the same as lazy ignorant posters who think their opinion here means something..
There is no such thing as a Stupid Question.
If someone has an IQ matching their shoe size I suppose that hoary old truism is correct...
Obviously, that doesn't always apply to responses
Stop shooting yourself in the foot..I answered the posters question..you didnt.
End of story.
Looking forward to you/others busting their arse answering dopey/lazy people..aint going to happen though is it..????????????????
Just complain..its easier..
The end

Re: What does Cloaking mean?
Damn guys, you don't have to be jerks. If someone TRULY doesn't know what cloaking is, he may not think he can find a decent answer by searching Google. After all, searching Google for 'how to make money online' will net you a bunch of crap, whereas asking the same question here has a lot more potential for success.
Not everyone is as experienced as you guys are, you don't have to be rude.

Re: What does Cloaking mean?
A good example of overly-simplistic cloaking is:
Code:
<div style="background:white;">
<div style="color: white;">
spam spam spam spam ... keywords
</div>
</div>
The point is that you're presenting something to the web crawler that is different from the user. So In this case, the spam keywords are hidden in a white box, but the spider (which may only look at the html) will see them.

Re: What does Cloaking mean?
The real meaning of cloaking actually means having a web page that appears differently to Search Engines than users....
Mostly, users are redirected to an affiliate link and search engines are left alone...meaning they crawl it like a normal website.
The community has adapted a different meaning too though, known as affiliate cloaking. Some people think search engines derank you if you have affiliate links on your website...so they try to hide the links (aka cloaking).
For either one of those, you can use my bot detection script:
