[tutorial] how to: full rss feeds for autoblogs
This is my first post to black hat world, so please be gentle!
i've noticed many on BHW often ask where or how to get full rss feeds from sites that only provide excerpts in the feed, so i decided as my first post here on BHW to write a tutorial to answer those questions.
- First scour rss feed search engines such as: google, feedplex, icerocket, syndic8, rssmicro, search4rss etc.
- Once you have found suitable blogs/feeds to get content from, make a note of each feeds URL.
- copy this list of URL's to notepad and save.
- Next we need to visit a full text feed generator, try: wizardrss, rssez, fulltextrssfeed.
- Save the URL of each converted rss feed to notepad.
- This step isnt essential, but saves having thousands of feeds being pinged on your site and eating up server resources, goto RSSMIX and paste all the new full text rss feeds into the box (one feed per line), this will create one feed out of all the feed URL's you input into the box, click create.
- save this new URL to notepad, save it and close notepad.
- login to your wordpress install and install one of these plugins: autoblog, wp-o-matic, feedwordpress, wprobot free(ftp install only), yaab autoblogger(ftp install only, seems to eat server alive in WP 3.1).
- create new feed campaign, enter the URL created from RSSMIX for feed URL, choose a suitable category(create a category if needed) then set a retrieve interval such as once an hour (60 mins).
- save campaign, click fetch or process, forget.
some other tips for when your creating feed campaigns for your autoblog
- create multiple users/names for authors, choose orginal author and if orginal isnt available select a random user from the users you just created, this prevents every post seemingly being written by "admin".
- depending on the plugin you choose, create the categories before creating a campaign.
- though i'm sure you don't care and neither do i, but i'll mention it anyway, always be sure you have permission to use the content, best way to avoid these little issues is use article directories for content, the author will love the extra backlink, these articles can be informative and highly SEO'd by pro writers and the article directory often has a policy for using their content.

i hope my first post and mini tutorial helps out some folk here on BHW, to admins, if i've posted in the wrong category, sorry and feel free to re-categorize the post or offer any constructive advice.

first I've heard of RSSMix - not terribly complicated though will probably help someone without much scripting experience

tough to find the really good feeds. Most feeds will still only give you text and no images.
