I have a website up and running but I am using the 'affiliates' name in the domain name/url and they have just told me that they will terminate my membership if I show their name in the url - so is it possible to still advertise the website as normal but when visitors actually land on the site the url is different?? Basically, I have the 'companies name'.co.uk and I think it p****s them off.

I don't want to use forwarding because I don't think that helps with the pagerank.

Any advice on what sort of solutions may help

First of all, is the url an affiliate link or a domain name that you registered? If it is a name that you registered, register another name without their name in the url and forward/mask it to the name that pisses them off. Doing this will not affect PageRank because the original site is the one that will be spidered by search engines. Forwarding/masking will get them off your back whilst protecting your initial investment.

Hi thanks for the response...yes it is just a domain name, but if i get a new name and forward/mask it that's fine but what about my old name, what happens when they enter that into the url, won't it still show as the old name/affiliate name, or is there a way that they can enter the affiliate name into the url and then when they land on the page it is different i.e the new domain name?

Sorry if this is a simple question but it's a bit confusing - thanks
