Default How to Cloak Clickbank hops

I was wondering how to cloak a clickbank link so the aff. id wont show up on the product page.

For example

when someone clicks

http://111111.water4gas.hop.clickbank.net

it wont show the hop as 111111

http://water4gas.com/2books.htm?hop=111111

Affiliates can't do this themselves, only a merchant can change the way the url is displayed on their page (they can add a script to their page to do this).

However, what you could do is either cookie stuff all your visitors and send them to the merchants page directly or send them to a page like http://yoursite.com/1.html and cookie stuff them on that page with an auto redirect. That way you're not really doing anything wrong as you're just hiding your aff id and not cookie stuffing every Dick and Jane.

You can't. The vendor can cloak it (quite easily) but most of them don't. Why? Because it's a simple thing like providing a landing page with a couple of lines of php which direct you to a new landing page. Unfortunately, that means that the 'original' landing page gets blown out by Google etc.

They could get round it by having their original landing page as, say, index.html and a specific landing page for affiliates as index1.php. All the index1 page does is redirect to index.html. That drops the 'hop'. As the 'hop' doesn't matter anyway to either vendor or affiliate the only reason I've ever heard for it to be shown is that affiliates like to see it to make sure the system is working properly and their commission isn't going to get stolen. Which is crap because CB stores the last link and uses it when the buyer buys.

Ask the vendor to cloak. I've done it with a few vendors - and, by and large, they've done it. The ones that didn't - I dropped.

You can also just use a CB redirect script, which creates the links, like this.

yourdomain.com/redirect.cgi?CB_product_id

This then goes directly to the sales page, less the hoplink. The effect is the same as what Havok says, but a script like the one i have attached for you, will work for all products on CB without any edits (once you've put in your own CB Aff ID).

I've also added the PDC one as well.

You could also look into "p o w e r l i n k G e n e r a t o r" I use it and it seems to work fine. You basically nake a folder on your domain like "suggests" or "recommends" and send people to a page connected to it. there is software to track it for you and tell you your stats. a tiny bit glitchy but hell, works for me.

You could probably find it if you searched.
