As you know I am a noobie and I am confused about double meta refresh, redirects and cloaking. I have read numberous threads in BHT but still confused and can not determine one from the other. Can someone please explain to me the difference between the three. In addition, what is the best method out of the three.

It depends what you are doing as each method is used for a different task

Double meta refresh is used to get rid of the referrer
A redirect is to direct traffic from one file to another or a different domain using a httacess file or a simple php script.
Cloaking is where you might have your site appear appear differently to search engines than normal users.

If i understood correctly, double meta would have the same effect as if the user typed the link directly into the browser?
Overusing this method wouldn't raise flags to Affiliate Partners ( like, having 100% of the commisions with no ref ? )

yes thats right and thats why some people are getting calls to exaplain there no referrers links

This has been stated numerous times on this forum. It might raise a flag and if they question you about why all your leads have no referrer tell them that you use a separate tracking program that strips the referrer before sending them to the offer since you don't want to reveal your traffic sources.

There are no dumb questions, just pointing it out that if you're thinking it there's a possibility it's been covered before somewhere on the forum! ;)

Gotta learn how to use the search option :)

so whats the purpose or benefit of using a double meta refresh? is'nt it a good idea to let the CJ / CPA networks see your traffic sources? Now I am just guessing here, so if a network has a ban on a type of traffic source you use a double meta refresh to hide it? Is there any other benefit to using it.
