Default Do CPA companies care if you change their html links?

I want to use a CJ text link, but they add this 1x1 pixel for tracking purposes.

Can I ditch the tracking pixel and just send traffic to the main URL? Will this raise any red flags or get people upset?

Thanks for any advice!

Look into CJ's Terms of Service to find your answer. Some affiliate programs care, others don't (EPN, for example.) I'm not sure what CJ's stance is.

Thanks, I'll dig around to see if I can find the TOS.

On a more technical note, say webpage A has the link + tracking pixel.

If I send traffic from webpage B to webpage A, can they detect through the pixel that webpage B exists?

I know if a user clicks through on the link to the company site, they can obviously get the referrer as webpage A. However, can just bringing up the pixel on webpage A determine the referrer for THAT page?

It depends on whether or not their impression pixel is merely a pixel or a piece of JavaScript code. In most cases, if the pixel is just a pixel, the answer is no, they can't get referrer information.

I personally just leave them so I don't have to worry about their TOS.

I don't know if they care if CTR is too high, but I want to keep it all realistic.

Also, if they can track referrers, they can see junk traffic, etc.
