Few Indian Bank offers this facility to their Customers.

If you are from the U.S. and you have a credit card, you can create virtual credit cards for online purchases to stay safe.

Here in the U.S., you can go into almost any super market, drug store and a lot of other places and purchase a credit card gift card. I have seen Visa, Mastercard and American Express versions of these. They may be better than virtual because you can purchase them for cash (no trail) and you have a physical item.

yea but gift cards arent the same as CC and u cant use them for all online purchases and they cant verify paypal accounts or ebay accts etc ... most of the things we want them for

Virtual card meaning virtual you can use it like a real credit card online cuz you have the numbers.
but you won't have it in plastic like the real credit card is. Its just be safe from internet fraud or for some verification.
