Hi, I have a few questions about being a vendor for CB.

First off, do all vendors make profit just by throwing their own product out there?

Secondly, It says that to upload a product, I must pay a 45 dollar one time fee. So if I wanted to upload more products in the future, would I need to pay another 45 dollars?

Finally, should i start developing products and start being a vendor, or stick to promoting other people's products, with barely any success.

Yes. That's how vendors make money on clickbank.

Yes, it's for each product. They don't want people spamming up the site.

It really depends. I personally think clickbanks charbacks/fees are outrageous. There are lots of other ways to market your own egoods. I've used trial pay with a lot of success. And you get much higher conversions. You can still use clickbank though... it's good to keep your eggs in different baskets.

Yes, I would market clickbank products, and throw your own stuff on there, if think other people will work to sell it. The key to success on clickbank is to make a product that everyone will want to sell, so you don't have to do a thing. (although that's easier said than done)

In answer to your first question, no. There are something like 12k+ products on Clickbank, most of which don't earn squat.

Theses are the sorts of questions I am wondering about. Not to jack this thread, but Furious George mentioned returns and charge-backs. On an ebook, for instance, do these sorts of things still happen?

Chargebacks are a part of any business. Whether it's ebooks, or selling donuts. My issue with clickbank is they almost never side with anyone but the customer. Their chargeback policy is much like paypals, in almost every situation they side with the customer. Your commissions are hurt by chargebacks, and more so if you're a vendor.

It's not enough to not do business with them (like I said, chargebacks happen everywhere you go), it's just, I'm not a huge fan. There are alternatives to selling your own material.

You can't put an ebook in the marketplace and have it just sell. You still have to recruit affiliates - the only advantage is that the affiliates will trust the Clickbank system. Your better off going with JV Zoo or something similar though and not having to deal with the CB BS. Your going to get chargebacks still and Paypal is going to side with the customer but if you have a good product you can minimize refunds.
