Hello everyone, I am still very new to this forum but I have been avidly reading threads here for the past four days.
Truthfully, I am totally overwhelmed. I am getting little snippets of information with every thread I read, but I try to hold on to it.
Clickbank sounded very appealing to me, and although I do not know very many things about IM yet, I quickly realized the golden rule around here was to take action in order to learn... So I went ahead, made a clickbank account and grabbed a hoplink.

From here. I learned quite a bit pretty quickly.
I did some research on how to hide had that long, nasty hoplink because I knew for a fact hardly anyone would click that not expecting it to be spammy.
This is where the term "cloaking", or from what I've read, one aspect of cloaking clicked and the information solidified.
I found out that I could get a free domain(because I still feel to ignorant and uncomfortable to invest money in this for now.)
and I learned how to forward that domain to my hoplink URL.
Now my little hoplink was essentially a lot cleaner.

I did not, and still don't really know what to with the thing though.
The only thing I know is that I need people to click that link and buy the guys product. (which is an ebook about overclocking a CPU)

So, the best thing I could think of was to make a throw away yahoo account, get on yahoo answers and recommend that people asking about how to overclock their computers check out the guide, and then leave my domain that redirects to my hoplink.

I also did the same thing on youtube.

Then, I made a blog on blogger describing the guide as if I had actually bought it myself, and included the "neat" hoplink a few times on that "review blog".

That pretty much concluded day 1.

This is day 2, and I am still getting around the layout of all these new sites that I am being introduced to, so I did not do much promoting today.
Also, there did not seem to be any activity created from my efforts yesterday. But, that was very expected. I think tonight after I finish up some homework, I will do some more promoting.
Mind you all this is all manual and by my own hand because I am unsure/not aware of any other process.

Well, that is pretty much where I am everyone!
I am writing this somewhat as a public log of the steps I am taking while also hoping to get some feed back or leads from the community as to what I am doing right, or completely wrong.

im not on CB promoter but i like the way you thinking..

Y! Answers is a very powerful tool if you use it correctly... I would suggest giving real good answers and see how high you can get the best answer % by the time you hit level 2. Once you are level too and trusted throw some affiliate links within the source etc. I am using Y! Answers to promote a site of mine and at the moment my site has 7 or so articles and I am only focusing on 2 articles at the second for promotion and receiving up to 40 unique visitors a day...

It is the end of day 2.
I only really had time to get on yahoo answers for a bit and try to answer some questions.
I threw out my link on about 5 of them.
Statistics still showing no traffic through my little domain. ^^
Still, as expected until I figure out some better promoting techniques.

Alright, this is the end of day 3.
I've decided there are different products I will want to promote in the future.
Today I played around with keyword tools and google analytics and learned about different article sites like Ezine articles.
I also looked around some hosting sites like godaddy and 1and1 I also got on yahoo answers for just a bit and answered a few questions. A little bit closer to being able to post links. lol

Tomorrow, I need to learn about backlinks. I don't really know what those are.
Also I want to research about how mailing lists work and how to incorporate them into selling my promoted products, what a squeeze page is, and I wanted to look at some different products to promote from clickbank that I think will sell better than what this overclocking guide would.
